am i
in love

is this
what love
feels like

euphoric highs
suicidal lows

suffering withdrawal
anguish

craving you
like a drug

when you
are gone

elated
calm

only
when you’re here

and i’m in your arms

I felt so much
Comfort
In the Arms
That broke my heart

I saw you today
I saw you slip your hand down the back of her spine
You did that to me before
I saw you smile and laugh and make jokes
You did that with me before
I saw you in the way I wish I had seen you all along
A preditor picking his next victim
I saw you try to make eye contact with me
My hands shook and my breath caught in my chest
It wouldn't have before
When I see formations in the clouds
of a lion laying next to a lamb
I envision myself
as the noble lion
and the lamb
is a Hershey bar
                            with almonds

tear you apart,

to forget where i am,

seek myself and forget my sanity,

married ground, catching trees,

flickered wind in some leaves,

now i tore down your town,

and my heart is at ease.
I cried till my wells were dry
I moaned till I could only sigh
My past bred fresh fears
And augmented that endless stream of tears
I was alone in the wild
But in that perpetual darkness unable to hide
Then despair embraced me
And darker tunnels I could clearly see
Day and night were alike
For that darkness ruled with might
I uttered voiceless pleas
And in vain pleaded my release
Thus continued the days
Lost in a thousand ways,
I was resigned to my fate
And all hope would have been, but late.

But one day that ‘fairest sun’ rose
And warmed me from head to toes
Penetrated me to my deepest recesses
And supplied light in unthinkable excesses
That sun stretched forth its hand
And bade me rise with polite command
That touch and the resultant feelings
Brought fresh strengths for future dealings
I was finally free though it seemed a dream
And gladness filled me to the brim
My tongue loosened so I could speak
I longed to express my joy but my mind was bleak
I gloried in that resurrection – momentous yet subtle
And all around me, I heard whispers: “the feeling is mutual!”
Roots drink from the winding Snake,
And roots drink from the lazy Delaware

You are the smooth petioles that anchor me
I'm coarse beneath, sort of glossy
On top.

Fall in love
the Yellow breeze
Sunsets don't
Encumber me
Don't you see where
this is going?
Don't you want
To anchor me?

Clay builds up on riverbanks,
Packed around the roots of trees.
Fire's going down the river,
Set a fire
Inside me.

Faster than the Winding Snake,
Fire's going down the river
Down the river inside me.

You are fire, wind and clay
Send your river through my veins.

I wear the wind like a necklace
And bow to the storm as I watch the river run.
The world is falling, brown and green
Orange gold, and red

You are higher
Than the Sun
Work is done, and we are strong

When I die I'll turn to clay,
According to my dream.

Fire down the cold gray river,
Where does all that water go?
Deltas lease them to the sea
Nature studied, let it go

Carry water, sons and daughters
Tend to all your dying leaves
Send your fire down the river
Give the Earth its last reprieve

and I
had No
More
Tears

and Oh Skies!
and Oh Trees!

and I
had No
More
Voices

and the Universe
was rocking
as if into
Nothing
