Opened windows

The clouds come alive
Harboring blood drenched skies
Mirrored by the sea
As rays of sunlight add dimension and the colors run free
A collage of different facets
So much there to see
The most breathtaking artistry
Thats ever been or will be

The scars on my heart
Are abstract like art
There’s both pain and beauty alike
I wear my scars, proud
Let there be no doubt
Of what I stand for if just out of spite

Of chaos and glory

Following the Procession
It comes to my attention
There doesn’t seem to be any other way
It’s how we choose to grieve
The tangled web we weave
That leads to our demise and disfunction

My breath is taken
Stolen from my soul
I gasp as if I’m reaching out
Trying to gain control
My eyes have seen a vision
Winter white like snow
While hidden secrets tell a tale

On the long stairway to heaven
There aren’t many things to see
Clouds abundantly dispersed
Hovering by your feet

I watch the flow of petals swoon
Under summer shade
Relax to sounds of birdsong blues
With a glass of lemonade
Catnaps in the daytime
Dreaming of clouds in flight
A luxury for some of us
Which just isn’t right
So I live out every moment

Hidden in my vision
A summers day delight

As the year comes to a close
Another year starts anew
With new resolutions
And dreams to pursue
A celebration of ending
For what we’ve been through
And a new understanding
Of what we must do
So walk in the footsteps
Of another man’s shoes
While accepting the change
When you’ve paid all your dues
And sing to the heavens
To drown out the blues
So that your prayers will be answered
And not misconstrued

There’s little of the story known
Once the ocean turned to foam
The suds covered up the earth
Like a newborn babies birth
Then it melted from the rising sun
Bursting bubbles, one by one
Until the earths restored and new
Stunned in turn by a bird side view
Peering down from high above
Claws outstretched and that thereof
To see the earth as squeaky clean
Not judging like a war machine
Where love runs deep and freedom reigns
Then settles in and breaks the chains

It’s his bottle of light
That fills empty cups
It’s his melody that touches our souls
It’s the words that hit home
For the scared and alone
That leads them past the fiery coals
It’s a glimmer of hope
A pause in the scope
That allows us a moment to feel
To connect in a sense
Under no false pretense
To the sounds with a vast loved appeal
It’s his journey embarked
That we feel apart
Watching him grow and transform
In front of our eyes
His music revives
And shields us from the eye of the storm
From mainstream to obscure
His message is pure
He sings, and the audience hears
His guitar is his wand
That tightens the bond
To the things that we all hold most dear
And it’s artists like him
That keep us filled to the brim
With joy that they’re sharing their gift
With something to say
In a meaningful way
Through performances that shouldn’t be missed
He implements ideas
That brings crowds to tears
When evoking emotional tones
Or he’s quick with a pun
In lighthearted fun
Using beats that he made on his own
He’s a writer, producer
A linguistic abuser
Using rhymes that are multi-complex
His schemes are unreal
He’s got skill; the real deal
And he’s not shy to show you or flex
He’s a force on the scene
Far from routine
He’s got a voice that needs to be heard
He’s got an ear for his pitch
That’s melodic and rich
And he’s got talent that’s borderline absurd

The lonely silence vanishes
Sound, busting at the seams
Explosive tunes in general
Lean towards the extreme
The misguided youth
Now raise the roof
High above the beams
Resorting to
Visual proof
Found only in your dreams

A tuft of gray feathers
A pile of leaves
A collection of secrets
That no one believes
Deep in the forest
There’s barely a breeze
Just soft spoken whispers
Reflecting off trees
A squirrel, a mouse
A bear, and some deer
Each moment captured

Games, are played, in the presence of a crowd

Where freedom isn’t free
And where brainwashing is abundant
At peak capacity
A form of communication
Where no one is to speak
Profiting the rich
By abolishing the weak

In an argumental state
Pedal to the floor
If apples were your brain food
They’d be rotten to the core
In a vegetative state
Solemn to be sure
The negative reaction
To the poetry of war

His mother sang to him a lullaby
When she put him down for bed
Her voice was soft and mellow
As he rest his weary head
His eyes were closed as he faded off

With her goal, in turn, fulfilled

Devastation
Can’t comprehend
The fallout of these people’s land
Black smoke rising
Makes no sense
No enemies
No self defense
Just havoc
Without precedents
Explosive measures

Prayers be answered
For these peoples lives

The power of the sun is felt
Worried that the ice will melt
Which will raise the ocean levels high
From the ankle to the upper thigh
And for that we’re ill-equipped
From what started as a single drip

Our bravado with our fists on hips
The patriotic stance
An image of a hero
That fails with every chance
The people I looked up to
Where freedom was enhanced
Ignored by all that turned their backs
As if they’re in a trance
Fixated on a notion

But life comes at you fast
