Oh washing mountain
When will I reach your high peak?
I seem to be stuck on spin cycle
Swirling in the drum
Dissolving ketchup stains
And swallowing socks as we speak!

Closed minds don’t equal
closed mouths unfortunately
don’t forget to breathe

ECKate
and sometimes the clouds look like mountains
winter coming to an end

other times, my favorite times,
a lovely field of green
color of your eyes
a summer storm rolling in.
i glimpse the crack of electricity across the canvas
i wait for the roar of it's mate.
each awesome moment upon the stage
a duet, a silent sonnet
the light rain pairs with the falling darkness,
slow soft blows from the moon wake up the stars

my lips to a cigarette
my thumb to the lighter
my heart to swell lovely contentment
only to break
too much hot air
I need the mountains once again

To be human is to love

To love is to be broken

To be broken is to experience beauty

To be beautiful is to sacrifice

Skin. Hair. Eyes. Body. Heart.

All these will change. Die.

But later on, you’ll go back

To being human

And you’ll go back to loving

You will be broken

You will experience beauty

The cycle won’t repeat

Because you know being broken

has its own kind of beauty

I have been at a friend's house
all day today
celebrating
my good fortune in finding
You all.

To be on the t shirt

I found your old
wrist watch
amongst your things;
strap worn, unstitched,

the face of the watch
stopped at a given time,
metal touched with grime.
Don't know when

you wore it last,
but I guess your being
still tingles along the vibes,
despite the years gone by.

I wonder if you
chopped up your day
by it, wonder what hours
you set aside for play,

what for work or sleep?
You're dead now, so that
information will have to keep,
the hours spent, the moments

slipped by in the blink
of a human eye, the ticking
watch ticking off
the time allotted you,

your span set out,
the final year
mapped out maybe,
for none to know or see.

I hold your watch,
allow the sense of you
to come through
the metal workings,

silver cast, leather strap;
the sense of you
pulsing as I wear it
briefly on my wrist;

the back of the watch
and my skin touching
as if kissed. I will put
the wrist watch away,

in some drawer, for
another, some day,
but it is you, my son,
that is wanted, that’s missed.

Walk away from the sun
Forget what you’ve done

Give the darkness a try
Kiss your nightmares goodbye

For in the darkness you see
We’re all family

And in the shadows we thrive
Do more than survive

Give up your inhibitions
We’re all on the same mission

To live a life so sweet
We all feel complete

Give the darkness a try
Embrace the dark side

Walk away from the sun
Forget what you’ve done
Achieve.

Progress.

Repeat.

Infinitely, this process must repeat.

You can't forcast your chances for success.

Maybe,

your break will come.

Maybe,

this just isn't for you.

But you can't give up,

you're a star.

Shuffle on, and play your cards well.

You might not get a second good hand.
