I sat, eager to hear what you had to say.
I watched, the tears welling up in your eyes.
I wept, as you let everyone see you.

You are the most beautiful chameleon I have ever met.
And I know the significance of your sobs.
You let everyone in.

When I told you I envied your courage,
that wasn't a lie.
Because what you did today was so brave.

So thank you.
Thank you for letting us in.

It was an honor.
For the beautiful girl who may not know how much I love her.

Trying to think of something wise
to pass along to you, my son
on this  most important day
Remembering things my father said to me
that you've been practicing for years
Reflecting on those things
that I have learned from you
Those things that you have taught me
Those things that make you you
Those things you do that make me proud

You have taught me how to love unconditionally
How to be a father
How to be a better me
How to be a man to make you proud
So, son, just keep on doing
what you have been so good at doing
Be you as you take this next big step along your journey.
Congratulations to my awesome Son, Noah, on this his High School graduation day.  Eighteen years he's been teaching me how to be a Dad

The words I write
are for you
and they've touched
the hearts of everyone
but.
If poetry cannot
alter or affect you
then I do not know
how to show you
love

quietly yelling
I want all your brains and your dark side too~

I want everything there is to love about you!!!
The poet sits in lamplit gloom
alone in ebb and flow
how strange it seems to write of love
but never feel it's glow

A sigh, a lie, a broken heart,
a kiss on untouched skin
yet still this writers heart it sits
uncharted deep within.

The poet sits in lamplit gloom
and stares at paper bare,
then puts to it her broken heart
and leaves it bleeding there.

Why would I consider it
When never were you true
I never should reload it
And relinquish it to you
For surely would you use it
And still would I show surprise
At the sight of bridled malice
In such grey and lifeless eyes

The tools you used against me
Left scars across my mind
The will you took away from me
I happily resigned
A blame it hovers over you
But doesn't match your dress
If more I pile onto you
It seems I carry less

You placed such trust about me
And it grew too hot to hold
I dropped the warmth in front of me
And cursed about the cold
A shiver ran about me
Like a spider on my skin
My vision faded eerily
The room began to spin

Insanity beheld me
In my broken tepid form
It wrapped its arms around me
So comforting and warm
And showed me secret windows
Which no living eye should bite
With a light of truth above its head
It charged into the night
