Eyes are beautiful, crystalline structures yet somehow rounded.
Eyes are poetic.
But there are some eyes
That you can truly see the stars in.
You can see the universe bubbling down the river of time,
Our planet twirling its way through the ballroom of our solar system
You can see everything inside, a window.
But at the same time, you can see everything out of it, too.
I can see myself within.
My own hopes, my own memories
Cast back at me with a fresh perspective
*The stars are in your eyes,
So be careful not to be blinded.
To flowers

4AM Questions
Am I motivated in life because I want to succeed, or because having free time lets me reflect on the negative aspects of myself that I'm too cowardly to face?

What Happened to the Stars?
My sky used to be so bright
Pinpoints of light and joy
Comets bringing icy chunks of cheer
Moons carrying comfort
Shooting stars raining down pure happiness

They all remain-
But a supernova has blinded me to them.

Human Condition
In our violent yet desolate universe,
Where blazars and quasars wreak havoc
On poor unsuspecting star systems,
Where galaxies tear each other apart at the seams
Bleeding gas and flinging star guts over an inky canvas
Where there are stars so blistering they turn atoms to subatomic soup
Where there are planets so frigid all particle movement ceases
Where a stray rock could punch through our world and leave
us all dead-but in comparison, relatively unharmed-

*Why are we destroying ourselves when we have an entire universe attempting to do just that?

Who's the Hero?
You're the hero.
You.
You lead your own life.
You find your own beauty.
You solve your own problems.
You live through your own dreams,
moments, loves, losses, and most importantly...
You are perfect in your imperfection.
Never forget it.
Take care of yourself.

Fixing Mistakes
Time and time again,
I hurt her.
I break her.
She blames herself.
I wish she knew how sorry I am
And that it isn't her fault
That she's a wonderful person
and that I love her no matter what
