THE PHEASANT
A pheasant is strutting
around my garden today.
He's a very beautiful bird
and he knows it.
Strutting around as if
he's the king.
Calling out now and again
disregarding all the other birds.
I must be close to nature
with him in the garden.
Keith Wilson. Windermere. UK. 2016.

THE CHERRY BLOSSOM
The cherry blossom is
beautiful this year.
Thick pink clumps covering
all the trees.
Should stay nice for awhile
If the weather remains calm.

Eddy
I'm stuck in this eddy.
And I'm such a poor swimmer.
I get swirled around.
Like a little helpless fly
caught in a wineglass.
Unbeknownst to the drinker.
I'm stuck in this eddy.
And I'm such a poor thinker.
I allow my mind
to get swashed around...
Like a lone sock
in the washing machine.
Lost without its other.
I'm stuck in this eddy.
And I'm such a poor survivor.*
So I just submit
to the will of the currents.
Like an empty bottle.
Stuck head down at the neck,
in the bathroom floor trap.
Sink or float...
I can do neither.

Eternal Threshold
Mind Escape
It's been too long

It sometimes scares me, that our mind is the only thing we can't escape. Even planning it, involves it. Always caught red-handed.

As Once It Was And So To Be
Beneath the heavens
Where stars once swirled
Do all now sleep
In death unfurled
