a path to our pleasure
We are alienated by our namesakes
Yet we can’t complain about our problems
We make mistakes and if it's painful, maybe
One day, we'll learn another way to say I'm sorry

meaning to
The choice to stay awake or pass out quickly
With all your limbs intact and beside you
Follow the sounds the way that i do
A siren and a song for the girls
That walk the boulevard alone
All our hearts are broken against the dawn
A river of chocolate, a river of song
A river of tears, ancient as our shadow
We’re over here so come join us at this table
There’s plenty of room for two or three more
And if we fasten our bodies together securely
In a storm our limbs might not come crashing too strongly
And if the wind assails you then i can hold you true
And know that i won’t fail you for my words they never
Do anything as stable as what my heart keeps meaning to
For I am only a coriander seed
Would it be appropriate of me
To believe contradictorily
That what is appropriate
Appropriation must agree
If after all a waterfall falls
And the sound resounds
Until it's still, echoing
Within and all around me

tragedy is an unlucky goat
We are among the unlucky ones
Abundant silence siphons your soul
In slow-motion we roll on the pavement
Making snow-angels on the concrete
The heat of day gives way to icy treats
We buy them with money from your pocketbook
You are confused by this corruption
Its controlling our moods and our mouths
Until we see sparrows come out of them
I am half asleep in your window sill
Please shut me out and i’ll return with music and vinegar
We are the rolling hips of Elvis’ illegitimate children
You shook me to my soul until i needed a vacation
We are all born chasing spiders
Into the heartbeat of deceit's oblivion

Incandescent feathers
musical notes
that bloomed
like roses
upon thorny stems
of the sun
its setting song
composed
of violent chords
plucked from
a strings of words
like winged birds
they flashed
incandescent feathers
to be skinned
and written upon
the flesh
our gifts were frozen by the stars
as shards of ice hit our hearts
cartons of milk tossed in dumpsters
where slums of homeless men and women
seek shelter in the ghettos
schedule a day off
those stray cats are always the boss
sort of determined to get lost
you try to set a good example and fall short
feet first we landed on our paws
happy to be safe at last
we converse with your mangy dogs
lying in the center of dusty crossroads
all our travails are necessary
shall we set sail on another journey
or stay put and reflect for a minute
once the word has grabbed you
it takes hold of your mind and soul
you can no longer let it go
and now you must serve it
for it has shaken you to your bones
why do we make tones of loneliness
while slow people escape the fragile daylight
shine your flashlight on the pages
and see what emerges from the ink of the sages

fools insist
Come connect with your friends
You hesitate to feed the bears
That live within your skin
I tremble and soften
Whenever you mention my name
We are living prayers made to offer
We are food placed before the fire
Stolen from desire’s palace
Constantly making fools of our enemies
Observing life and all it's folly
Ever flowing into an enchanted river
Give the world it's heavy fate
While we try to remain the least bit tasteful

You know the angels aren’t taking
Anymore disciples until the spring
So we sing the songs of poppy
And place our playlists on repeat
We are all a part of something beautiful
More often than we like to think
We only came here for some comfort
But left with an open mind and heart
We hold the answers in our bodies
And perhaps one day they'll speak

the bends
Life is lived in our hearts not in the sky
It's a taboo to move and dream too easily
For the youth are doomed to know beauty
And grooms are too full of duty and betrayal
While we were hiding among our friends
Divers of the deepest oceans must slowly ascend
Until a mantle of fault is placed upon their heads
And what comes next is nobody else’s business

Cacao's song
From my eyes to your heart
space and time are torn apart
into the void, the rose of life
falls and merges into and becomes white
echoes and silhouettes are what we are
slowly twisting and spinning

sacred knots strung together
in a moment of eternity
the storm and the feather
the dancer and the dance
begin to slowly come untethered

your sound and your face
your heart and its embrace
your wings and your feet
all dipped in chocolate earth
our lips and tongues surged to greet
your *** and your innocence
could not be separated by a single death and birth

nowhere, only now
signs of the eternal meeting point
its here, there, anywhere
pulsing with delight and purpose
self reflective and formless
like the morning sunlight
it conceals and reveals
such is the mystery of sight

magic is consuming the inorganic
Om Ah Hung
sprinkled with cosmic dust, life awakens
morning’s daily miracle
arises from sleep’s rich fecundity

just once
decide
never to hide
your light
no matter how
frightened or scared you may be
i am here to keep you company
remember me
my nature is ecstasy
the fruit of the tree
friendship
and community
sit with me
and be silent
let your mind quiet
pouring down
the light of the sun
its just begun
it will surely rise
if you take your time
and never compromise
in the silent skies
the mind wanders and flies
towards the life review
to see if your were true
the fragrant breath
the highest test
is shining

We are shells and shoulders
The shallower the better
Nocturnal symmetry
Or diurnal seizures
From the mouth of the mystery
Myth is spoken
Creating meaning and mayhem equally
From the smooth edges
Of your virginity
She said, "In this relationship,
We are each equipped with a parachute,
And I would never blame you,
If you felt compelled to use it."

A warning: It never gets better than this..

P.S. She also said, "I packed both of them myself."

the rain is my savior
the rain is my savior
she saves me from falling
she’s pounding the earth so hard
i’m glad i’m not redundant
and can let go of the foregoing
the sound of thunder is foreboding
but i like my coffee black
she returns for more
another violent interlude or attack
her descent creating waterfalls and rainbows
spraying beauty in all directions
i am thunderstruck
in awe of her complexity
it’s flaming mantle an altar of reverence
if you wish to be healed
drink the rainwater
falling from sky to earth
and bringing back our souls
show me your nakedness
in twilight’s stupor
i’ll try not to laugh
as you stumble home later

the wilder the mushroom
the more that i’ll respect her
and sleep deprivation is not a burden
but a rite of passage
the blessing of laughter
touches the forgotten spaces
along our spines and bodies
there are so many memories left abandoned
along the side of the proverbial road
red is the color of tantric conflagrations
and the redness of your lips has taken hold of me
impulses are firing and i am a diamond
standing at the bank of a lake so deep and wide
you are a tyrant and i am defiant
so let’s not linger on these words much longer
some call it sleep deprivation
i say we are chronically alive
fighting back our tiredness
like good children we swallow all our suffering
tangled in our platitudes
this delicious derision has got us up to no good
and the circle of outrage and oppression
has left us in the mood for some food

robed in shadows
stretched as tight as arrows

what if Moses had drowned
would his followers
have had to then run for cover

gift her another dragon's eye
look for our brothers
in words and stutters
close the shutters
as rooms descend like escalators
no one likes to let you
fool around with their heart

connection to the mystery
our hands do not make mistakes
these angles of imprisonment
reflecting fingers arguing for safety
i am shattered but not ashamed
i am captured but never maimed
heaven brought you to me
this singularity begets questioning
and freezes our timelines
as if they were undermining diamonds
will you cry for me a thousand stories
and try me before the court of glory
houses darken when day is over
bid farewell to samsara
and express for once hello lover
why strut your stuff on the boulevards
if there's plenty of bread and water
here to nourish our hearts
your borrowed money
is returned with interest
so finish the distance
between your infant minstrels
and your microwavable dinners
we seek comfort in memories
and nonreturnable movies
it deepens our connection to the mystery
her hands are always holding me
and in their grips i am free
to be myself undeniably true
departing like a vulture
and coming back to you
rest now my love and save me a smile
you know i’ll return
after i’ve traveled for awhile
and gone towards the sky
in several days you’ll rise
breaking out of that rusty cage
noone waits for anything these days
locks break whenever
we are expecting
them to straighten out our problems
so solve your mistakes
or make cakes and bake them in shallow ovens
slap me in the face again
whenever i am chasing
hours of beauty and sunlight
when wasted we rest again
in red faith and foreign money
forsaking the reasons you never gave
you left me wondering
for a thousand more years

the sound of the rain drumming wildly
i am tired or maybe I’m just idle
wishing that you’d return
sorceress of the continents
healer to courtesans and royalty
i seek your comfort and your company
single hands build tiny nests
awareness relies on itself for its totality
the blessed hands that spin our clothes
hold our shadows in their souls
and keep the world in balance
if you knew you’d cry
or at least break down and sigh
and let out the anger you’ve buried deep inside
i am trying to reach you
all our channels are crossed
and i cant seem to teach you
that we are all off course
you can see what happens
to the obsequious sycophants
who deny the holy company

there is no lack of reprimands

concrete forms
Bees fly in the periphery of my vision
Friends smoke DMT
To get higher than their prisons
Perhaps there are no solutions at all
There is nothing to solve
And language probably can’t fix it
It will all dissolve
Eventually
So just relax and appreciate
The beauty that awaits you
For all the pain
There is perhaps an equal amount of virtue
Concrete forms
May take the world by storm
But they do nothing to tempt me
For once you see truth all becomes relative
And if everything is changing
Then we must learn to change too
I have a mission
It's been here since the beginning
If i finish it i will leave blissfully
All's well that is tended to
All is safe in the space of love
So come reach for my heart
All is a part of the whole Earth
And we are beyond your control
And punishment never seems to works too well
See the moon light up the night
Feel these words become a rope
And climb them
Spend time in the water
Keep your mind free from drama
Love is a head of lettuce
Waiting for you to pull it from the wet earth
Don’t curse the land that you stand on
When you don't know what you stand for
Are we furniture or appliances
Are we murdered by our silences
Confide in the smiling arrow
Break out of the cage of harrowed thoughts
You meander timelessly upon wild prairies
And dance wildly in the wind
Images precede words
Symbols are not the signified
We are absolved of our faults
And tossed into the forest alone

love again
Every poem is puzzling
If an analogy
Is anything like an algorithm
And love is the highest
Form of flattery I know of
What a tragic destiny
To await life or death
With hesitance and reticence
When we are only rejected by uncertainty
And inner dissidents deny
Our few minutes of peace
What is an argument
But an even greater reason
To try to remain in contact
We are all articulate and lonely
So don’t deny these stories
Even if they seem crazy or boring
We can't explain away our haziness
And also rectify our kindness
After all it's a compromise
To decide who is right
Means also to lose faith
In the inner workings of the heart
If we are pertinent and perturbed
By lonely apathy and hurt
You can always question the quiet
You have become accustomed to at night
If we shut down our towers and our tables tops
We may get lost or turned around again
For often we are too proud to ask for help
So instead we become just like our furniture
And spend our lives building and/or buying houses
Destroying peoples lives in private
And making messes on our carpets
We are concrete and vision-less
While people of the earth are being burnt
And yet still don't return to hatred
They are sharing all that’s naked
As we slowly learn to grow
Towards love again

I don’t want to speak of your beauty
Or how the dawn sips your words like wine
I hate the light tonight and wish to abscond
Only with the darkness
For I am unfathomably angry
That there can be no more justice
As there is nothing left in our hearts
I can speak only cruelly of you
As if to stab at your tender flesh
We are each lost in our intellects
And I’d gladly give you back your gifts
If I’d known this love would be so quick to end

cast off your shadow
and call the roll
see who shows up
love is a lady with tiny fingers
and sweet smelling clothes
and beauty that lingers
cantankerous old men with cataracts
drown upon the folds
of your wedding gown
i am that fabric that comes in a roll
and if you inhale
the diamonds will follow
remove veils and teach the people music
give your wisdom and produce harmony
wild candy and replenishment
reprimanded only by tyranny

i wish that your heart would never stop beating
i am speaking personally again
i am a well behaved child
i smile when necessary

i am uncomfortable in your presence

Can we agree to believe in anything
Before life fades away
We shake our head again each day
There are countless apples in deliverance
So we partake in escapes so impressive
That trouble comes to collect our autographs
We are infamous and i knew I needed you
The moment I saw you staring at me
While i made myself a sandwich
We are artifacts of another time and place
It seems the remains are fading and so are you
But please don’t fall asleep, tonight
I need your many faces to keep me company
We are tracing our contemporary lives
With minds and bodies underlined
Pining for a little beauty and perhaps an apology
I am opinionated like an article of clothing
A particle of compulsive residue
We are shuddering at the sound of molecules and ions
These non-ionizing operations of insight
And licenses of poetic defiance
We are appliances of self-discovery
Upholstered in our recovery
Eating mustard greens and banana leaves
A distant relative of organisms and multiple *******
Are we awake or just bumbling through our lives
Do we divide our time between essence
And deferential retribution
Contusions of fortitude sorted and surrendered
We are the sundry insouciance
That keeps plundering our own protuberances
Money for nothing and living is free
Breath is abundant and so we sing
There is harmony, melody and your feathery feet
Are all over the upholstery
Your company is cheap
So we take leaps of discomfort
Only to discover that we all equally
Hurt and burn in the firmness of determination
Commanding action with the least bit of understanding

To represent the arrow's path
Through straight lines and war cries
We reclaim whatever can't be defended
The rest has all been said before
The dying father begets the son
A lesson of love and tenderness
In order to begin again we must now
Brush away this dead skin
And shift into a much deeper
Place of resonance and understanding
agitated we danced
hot-blooded and bullied by our inner children

If you’ve had enough crying for one life time
But then i realize we are all already dying
So i reply to you to keep on trying
Love is a burning rain-forest
It's starting again to diminish our souls
And burn holes in our skin
These words are weapons
Against imminent destruction
We are defeating the isolation of meaning
The specialization of reading is never that special
We are all strangers in these strange lands of reason
Filled with millions upon millions
Of dangerous stranger-beings handing out
Mountains of mythological meaning
Straight from the mouth of the Mystery
I can’t teach you
Or reach you
No more or less
Of me exists
Than any other being
That’s ever been abandoned

And ponders of the desert
Is it a lesson or is it a challenge
And will he ever know
What the f!@#ing difference is

waterfalls of reflection
You are trudging towards the waterfall
But hidden underneath the lettuce patch is a dream
A carved image in the center of your delicate being
Life is as fragile as any other shallow pool of water seems
Your bedtime stories were always found to be a little boring
Until the moment you turned around in your mother’s belly
And made the most out of something everyone else had forgotten
You were cast out from the hallways of your family
Haunted beauties and lonely human beings
Making rules only for the ruling
Our truest places always remain facing north
For when we are young we seem strong, thin and determined
And women often argue with each other to begin anything
So please agree to go deep within your body
And make space for these lasting visions
If we are awakened to our feelings
Than someday we might know how to obey them

two pa(i)r-a-g(i)raphs
You are proud and destructive. Loud and argumentative. Return the phone calls you never made. Feel into your faith. Waves upon waves upon waves.
I watch your heart become a pocketbook. Apoplectic neglect. The accomplices we fail to protect. The edges are sacred. Naked. Lace and finger-paints, give meaning to our dress rehearsals.

A poem is a wave. As love is a feather. Send me your heart in a letter.
I will read it by the ocean. Movement is denial. You lied to me through your smile. I can see your insides. Buying out the real estate. Poetry made you soft. Feelings are lost in your basement. Sands shift like apples fall from treetops. I am bottomless. Now we read the newspapers to find the flavors we used to savor, in morning’s fragile atmosphere.
