Friends can come in the strangest packages,
All torn up and scratched and sealed with red tape.
As his friend, my hugs are his bandages,
I’ll teach him to fly and sew his new cape.
Everyone must find their joy and their peace,
And now that we’ve met, we are more than fine.
T’is he who’s my joy and my missing piece.
May he never leave, this true friend of mine.
He will always have a place in my heart,
Let it be his home, always free from pain.
And even for long times when we’re apart,
I know that soon enough we’ll meet again.
He is there for me, all brave and tough.
I lean on him when I’m Not Strong Enough.
Almost a Shakespearean Sonnet. I have the main structure down but the word flow isn't quite what I'd like for an iambic pentameter. Anywho, I needed a sonnet for school and this is what I came up with. The topic means a lot to me right now so it'll be nice to get some credit for my expression of friendship.
