I dated a guy once
My whole life revolved around his entire existence
I wanted to make him happy
And he said he loved me
So I thought that meant
I had to love him too
But with my body

I kissed a girl once
I thought that made me gay because I liked it
I wanted to make her happy
And she said she loved me
so I thought that meant
I had to love her too
But I didn't

After that it was another  guy
I was so ready this time
I gave him space
But he thought that meant I cheated
And proceeded to give me black and blue spots
In places people couldn't see
He said it was because he loved me
But I knew he didn't

These are things I know
Things I understand

What I don't get is you

You're gentle
And when something goes wrong
You just lay there
You just lay there and hold me
And somehow the all pain goes away

You're magic
Because when you kiss me
Flowers grow in the pit of my stomach and I feel you in my toes
You said you love me
I hope that means forever
-For the one who takes the pain away <3

Music can put a person in many moods
Smooth jazz puts on a mellow vibe,
While Hip-Hop can be rather up-beat and movements are rapid,
But yet they affect each individual differently.

Having these genres and many more are interesting
When the person that listens has different reactions.
He or she can find a different meaning
Compared to what someone else may think.

Classical music is meant to be heard by the youth
For mental growth and help the child expand on his or her learning.
Music such as rap from modern society could make the child boxed in
And corrupt him or her and keep the child from their future accomplishments.

oh yeah, like I am gonna read

six hundred and twenty nine poems

like I have all day with nothing else to do

who DOES that?

Read stranger's poems all day long?

Really?

oh yeah okay

tell me to pace myself

and be sure to give a thoughtful response

oh yeah, okay

or maybe just give them a heart

like a martyr

I'm off to a start

wasting time which I could be reading

all of your fabulous achings

read through the hearts that are breaking

and what's with the lives bent on taking

or hurting themselves, yourselves?

I suppose a call for help

or maybe just therapy or both

either way I should say something

Oh yeah, don't be doing that PLEASE!

you write all of the very best stories

be sure to be crowning the glories

the gory's

the missives

explosives

osmosis

and every Earth poem in between

don't feel bad for me I signed up for this job.

give them all a heart and tell them I'm a slob

for poetry

don't forget I promised to follow

every day but hey....

sob

Maybe just confetti for the mob

give applause and maybe some day

boo hoo

you will be reading this too.

Do not tell me
there is no life after
death because there is
nothing more beautiful
than seeing life
grow
in the middle of
a cemetery .

Today on the bus I made two new friends, and the sun shined on my face for the first time since winter came crushingly so many moons ago,
but still I missed you the dull way that makes moments of happiness taste bittersweet.

Wherever you are right now please be laughing.

As you're out there getting lost in the whirlwind life you're living,
as you give away the parts of you I long to look at once again,
and take pieces from people I will never know,
I pray you pause to remember the way flowers I picked for you felt in your hair.

Whoever you are right now I hope you're living well.

And as you turn down the corner of another page you have marked on,
temporary as the good and bad have always been,
I know you can't shake the feeling that something dire was lost in leaving.
All I ask is you recognize when to cut your losses and fly, little bird.

Whatever you're doing right now make it lasting.

Don't shy away when darkness approaches;
you've always told me to be braver than that.
But rather stick out your chest, breathe the deepest breath, and go forward.
On shaking legs sprint towards life or death or me or him or her or the unknown.

Do you remember when imagination
Ran rampant and tree houses became castles
Or the garage floor was boiling lava?
Our own little world within a much bigger one.
We were so absorbed in our own bliss that
We unknowingly sheltered ourselves from a reality
That all adults suffered through

Do you remember when you used to build legos?
An obsession with building a spaceship
To soar high above everyone and anything else.
You would show mommy your art and she'd be so impressed
And soon after, you'd be back in the lab,
Trying to surpass your previous creation
In an attempt to gain mommy's love.

Do you remember when you went camping?
We would lay in tents on the cold, hard earth
And stare off into the starry sky until serenity
Would cradle us off into slumber or the time
When your brothers/sisters kept being rambunctious,
Fighting and screaming, so much to the point where
Daddy threatened to take us all home and call it quits

Do you remember when you grew up?
You finally became the young man/woman your parents
Raised you to be for all those years.
It's time you join that reality that you so easily
Sheltered yourself from, but now caught up to you.
Reality can be a scary thing you thought to yourself
But you knew you couldn't hide from it.

School, work and sleep now rules your life.
Throw a newborn into the mix and
you've now officially joined the real world.
A world in which takes all that you give
And you don't think twice about asking.
You spend hours a day, working,
but do you remember the last time you were happy?

Just remember the little things in life and don't let adulthood swallow you whole.
