clouded sky, clouded mind
painful knees, route to find,
went to the store
in the car before
                              the run
                              the rain
one idea followed me
run the route I drove, see?
eight kilometres

less or more, I would find out
with my Garmin Forerunner 305, GPS and heart rate monitor
to prove that I am still alive,

each one point six kilometre
was faster than the one before,
oppressive clouds closing
dark and heavy

city scents gust around me
each vehicle had a different taste
as I pushed the pace,
sweat ran down my face,

faster and faster, I could not master
any speed, just quick enough to plaster
my hair against my head

hamstring want to cramp me
left one, bonus in the last stretch, I could feel the growing twinge
the right one knew better to behave,

in the end
it did end
before the rain came
before the night fell,

tomorrow, I will walk to work and back,
I will do stairs, but go ahead and as
you think of me, I give you permission
to laugh in my difficulty, as I make it
through the day, walking funny and taking stares
from every one who passes my way.

body of water
liquid corpse
enclose a copse
of undersea
trees...

some standstill to
blend in, some wave
in a tai chi motion
some see weeds
some seaweed,

like fabric it wraps
taking shapes
by dressing
in designer
clothes,
ideas that float
enclosed
to the top
but not out of popularity
but all the
waves from
the deep,
that lift
the body
in the body
of water to float,
           to surface.
Some read this before it floated comp!etely to the surface...hit save poem prematurely...blush

Can't get a word in
edgewise, no doubt, introvert
male, extrovert child
Maybe a haiku, leave it up to you, I can always edit once you've read it

More time behind a key-
board than common
sense might allow,
the Secretary disavows,
any knowledge of other Action
to bad your last name isn't Jackson
super hero you are not, and neither are you a zero,
quite a conundrum, what is in that cup the
size of a drum,
do you find that you have a fuel, and it fools,
with a run on string of....
fill in the blank you never been stumped before,
to fill the feed, kind of reverse greed,
because you can....
While I'll lament, that I am not bent out of shape,
I am saving the really twisted parts,
for when I am older and need to restart
my heart.
Guess I am going g to bed on the wrong side.

Mint tea is not for
every body, but it is
what is before me

sun in my eyes, standing there,
on the platform,
as her train pulled away,
hoping a cloud storm,
would rain hard,
as to stay coping with forms
of sunsets flashing
red hues of warning,
with each passing window
burned the optic nerve,
into my brain,
with each passing window,
pain welled up and exhaling
as the last car of the last train
carried all my sadness in the
eddies and backwash
in a breath of air,
gravity is a strange thing
when you fall for someone
and they leave,
you are drawn in, by the vaccum,
and may not catch yourself,
or have the will to stop,
from the four foot drop to the tracks,

thank goodness
my grandparents and
my parents put
that harness on,
that they had for me...and (my brother)
in words
"All the love
from horizon
   to horizon"
It did not happen quite this way, but this it what it felt like
Sunsets here represent change, and an end (of sorts) she did not wok nights and I know most people go to work "daytime"

working dirt, like it is easy
container garden on a balcony
planting so soon
to the tune of "No Frost Tonight"

except in the reception

of the signal of working
with dirt, nothing more
wholesome to measure
worth, there's only room
for one in the ***, me
or the dirt,

the perfect camoflage
to lay about the outdoor spaces
hiding in the open, hoping
what is buried there
is all of the past
and its many faces
Digging a hole, looking for a ladder to crawl into IT and leave whole...
