See the stars in the night sky
the clear blue seas
and the architecture of shanghai.
See art
the beauty of the world
and the passion of the human heart.

Smell the roses, tulips and lilies
the perfumes and aftershaves
and the over powering smell of chilies.
Smell the coffee, the toast and the flowers
the morning after a rain storm
and the bread in its infant hours.

Touch the sand
the animals of the world
and the many animals that live on the land.
Touch the fabrics
the rivers
and the seas

Feel the wind
the rain as it falls
and the snow hitting your face.
Feel the coldness
the warmness
and the change in temperature.

Hear the birds
the laughter
and the tears.
Hear the dogs
the cats
and the music of the world.

going crazy out of my mind
scratching at the skin trying to break free
ripping my clothes to shreds
can't you feel it, I need to escape
so hot, uncomfortable, need to be released.

I'm a prisoner with no room to move
no way to express how I feel
I just need to escape
just need to find an hole
building up anger and confusion
can't anyone feel it
this immense pressure, squashing me like an ant
pressing down.

I can't take it
ripping the skin from my bones
I need to find a way for my sole to escape
I'm a prisoner trapped

I want you to help me
I want you to care
I want you to show me you are really there

I'm screaming out for you
I thought I was different
But you ignore me too

We are so similar
we could be friends
but you ignore me, is this how it ends.

I want to turn back time
to a time when you cared
I want you to know me
I want you to care
I want you to show me you are really there

I'm talking to you
show me you are there

Silence, it's not much to ask for
banging before 8am
loud after 10pm
never shutting up, never been silent

With all its negatives
been deaf as one advantage
no noisy neighbors
no noisy traffic
total silence, something so rare

A house in the country
a boat at sea
a shuttle in space
places to finally get some sleep
places to finally get some silence
People who are deaf would love to be able to hear their neighbors and traffic and really deserve a cure, the purpose of making the comment about the one advantage to been deaf was for the purpose of the poem and also to explain how noisy the world is and can be.

Why do you write asked the stranger
why do babies scream I replied

because we will not be silenced.

You can tell us to be quiet
you can put us in cages
you can cause harm to us
but we will not be silenced

I write to express myself
I write to be heard
because no matter what you do
I will not be silenced

As the clocks stopped and silence fell
it was like the world had come under a witches spell
silence gathered all corners of the world
no movement, no sound, no signs of life upon the ground
as I looked down upon the Earth
no signs of life, no movement, no sound.

Cities that once screamed so loud
had fallen silent like a perfect summers cloud
upon the Earth where their was so much movement
now existed no signs of life
no movement, no sound, no life upon the ground

The laughter's of children playing
the tears of loved ones saying their goodbyes
the barking of dogs and honking of horns
no longer existed upon the ground
no signs of life, no movement, no sound.

As the clocks stopped and silence fell
it was as if the world had come under a witches spell
but in fact the clouds were filled
metallic objects hitting the ground.
loud noises, flashes of light
causing cities that once screamed so loud
to now life under a mushroom cloud.

War had come, no one won
life was lost
no more laughter
no more tears
no more barking of dogs, no more honking of horns
life no longer existed upon the ground
no signs of life, no movement, no sound.
World War 3 wouldn't last very long, if all countries used Nuclear weapons we would all be dead in hours

SAY NO TO WAR

Like a sinking ship, I'm sinking
drowning with no way to stay a float
lungs filling
air evading
screaming for rescue, no one hearing
surrounded by so much life but nothing able to save me
Like a sinking ship, I'm sinking

Looking up at that big yellow star
the one that lights the sky throughout the night
it can be seen from where ever you are
shining ever so bright

You look so close but yet so far
Sirius A the brightest star
The skies are full
but not all can see
the curiousity that exists within me

When I was a kid we played over the park
climbing trees, building tree houses
playing football, sometimes gutters
challenge strangers to a game
Tag, bulldog, hopscotch, pogs and more
paper ball fights, pillow fights, play fights
when I was a kid we made friends and stayed in touch
playing outside

When I was a teenager we played against our friends
websites, bebo, myspace, msn, yahoo, chatrooms
listened to new music, bands we never heard off
photos all the time plastering the web
when I was a teenager we played games like snake
trying to hold on to our child mind as we got older

In my early 20's, things changed
Myspace no more, we moved to Facebook
Selfies, more selfies and even more selfies
Youtube, Twitter, so many ways to make friends
stay in touch

Edging closer to late 20's
Snapchat, Instagram, Tinder, Whats app, Vine
so many ways to make friends
nearly 30 years, I've experienced so many ways to remain social

I miss those days, climbing the trees
because I could
running without a care in the world
no worries, to problems, favorite teachers, best friends
so many ways to be social
I had a way I wanted this to turn out in my head, well It's safe to say I failed, I hope you like it but if not I'll understand.. Thanks for reading

You see darkness and sadness
nothing but sorrow as you walk around
You're a prisoner with no way to escape
you hear the screams of eternal ****.

Dead bodies piling up
The sun drying up all the land
the planet excisting of only sand
you hear the screams of the ******.

Time is meaningless when nothing changes
when war exists every year
and children live their lives in fear
some call this Hell
I call it Earth.
We're born so peacefull, full of love
We're born explorers
We're born with so much compasion
We're born with so much potential

WHAT HAPPENED
Craig Harrison Feb 2014
What will I see when I arrive?
What will people feel when I leave?
Will I see red or will I see white?
Will I be walking into the dark or the light?

I had a beginning and one day I will have an end
but hopefully I still have a long time to go
even if time is beginning to show.

But I can not help but feel intrigued about what comes after
Will there be screams or tears of laughter?

Or

Maybe there is nothing once we die
except for our loved ones to have a good cry

The world is full of stereotypes, not that all are bad
I don't agree with them, a person is a person not a type
but their's a saying about writers, writers are addicts
drugs, alcohol, gambling. What's your addiction?

Those who choose to write, those with the calling
we're said to be depressed, we use addictions as a way to escape
from the clutches of a world we can only change in our writing.

As a writer, covering these stereotypes seems like a course in myself
I've been depressed, I've gambled, I wish to change the world.
A stereotype or just a person living in the 21st century.
Not sure where I wanted to go with this, seemed ok when I started but didn't know how to finish it, anyway I hope you enjoyed.

Sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me
a total lie!

Names hurt, not physically but mentally
and the scars last maybe longer
If you are lucky you'll come out of it a lot stronger.

Sticks and stones will **** me
names will make me cry
put the 2 acts together and you'll make me want to die

You think it's a joke but I don't find you funny
I die a little each time you bully me
because of you maybe tomorrow I will not wake up
overdose or wrists or something else
All could be averted if you didn't bully me.
I'm a big supporter of anti bullying campaigns but it seems to be getting worse, everyday a new video on Youtube from a victim and news story's of someone committing suicide because of bullying.

Sadly schools don't do much for victims. I myself was bullied at school and I know from personal experience you feel you are alone (you're not but it feels that way) Parents don't understand the scale of how it makes you feel, teachers just make things worse. But also from personal experience after school life your world opens up, it becomes so much bigger and you find people to talk to, new friends and your confidence comes back you come back. So although during school life you may feel like you're dieing at some point in the future you will feel alive once again.

I understand that this poem will not change anything (sad but most bullies only change as they get older) but if any bullies do read this I have something to say (SHAME ON YOU) and if just 1 person does read this and wakes up to the pain they cause someone else, I have this to say, IT'S NEVER TO LATE TO MAKE SOMEONES DAY BETTER

Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed it, if you have any questions please ask them and I will try to answer them a.s.a.p.

STOP, the world shouted

THE END
Craig Harrison Sep 2014
This is a story, the story of how I died.

I was attacked
everything went black, not sure how long I was out
woke up but surrounded by complete darkness
hot, hard to breath
couldn't move.
I remember I was panicking, struggling, not keeping still
something hit my face, grainy
felt like sand.
It dawned on me, I was buried alive
I couldn't stop screaming, I couldn't think clearly
maybe if I did I'd still be alive.
I found it harder and harder to breath
constant panic
I just remember thinking, why?
I've never hurt anyone
I'm about to die, tears poring down the side of my face
why me?

It's hard to explain what waiting to die feels like
but at the time I felt
Hope that I'd be rescued
Anger
Sadness
I could feel my eyes getting heavy
I was falling away
like trying to stay awake when you're falling asleep
it was a losing battle.

I finally took my final breath
one remaining thought
I will tell my story but so many will never get to tell theirs
my eyes closed, my brain shut down, and my spirit left
I had died
All over the world people die every second of every day and they never get found we never find out what happened to them. Give thought to those that are missing and not found
Craig Harrison Jul 2015
I've thought about it
but chose to stay
questioning everyday
how can I live in a world that tortures animals
be part of a race that kills our fellow Earthlings
Part of me dies, part of me cries and part of prays
but all of me wishes I could stop this cruelty
punish those that do harm
the idea of Hell was designed for people that ****.

Life is life
it deserves to live
it deserves to be free
it deserves to be happy
life deserves to live
if their is a God
then I beg you give us the power
give us the power to stop this cruelty
I struggle to live in a world that tortures animals
I can't stand been part of a race that kills our fellow Earthlings

Sunlight shining off her vanila like skin
and birds whistling to welcome us to the early morning
As she slowly opens her sleepy eyes
I muster a smile but she knows
My smile goes and her head drops
what can you do when your wife is dieing
what can you do when the doctors tell you it's not worth trying

The room begins to fill with sounds of tears
and the sunlight which only moments ago lit up her face is now gone
the birds that sang so loud is now only a whisper
and all that remains in this shoebox room are the tears that I wipe away from my wifes face
I hold her close, it is the least a husband can do for the love of his life
for all of time, she will forever be my beautiful wife.
Not based on my life

You'll never see
you'll never know
I don't travel with a team
I fight alone.
You'll give me a name
you'll gossip about
you'll always hear people calling out for someone like

Sadly superheros don't exist but in recent times I think the world needs one
Craig Harrison Jul 2014
In a world of over 7billion people you'd be amazed by the amount of variety
but sadly most people are similar deep down
we have the same desires
hopes, dreams
most of us spend the weekends the same way
the majority of us like films
so on a large scale we are unique but on a smaller scale we are the same

In a world of over 7billion people
I would have thought more people would hold my attention, that they would surprise me
so when I do meet someone that catches me off guard
someone that is truly unique, someone that surprises me I do my best to keep them in my life
I trust them completely
and I will always be their for them.
Not many people but all my best friends started out as someone that caught my attention and surprised me.

People that surprise me, I try to keep in my life
I'm a friend to everyone but my best friends surprise me.

You taught me to be kind
you taught me to forgive
you taught me to use my mind

so upon the day that I die
when ever that may be
I want you to know that I spent my life
doing what you taught me

Their will be a time when I no longer exist
a day where I am buried
but I want you to know that I love you
Dad, Mom and my amazing brother
Ever since I was a kid I have always known that one day I will die, I have always accepted that. Even if one day they are able to make us live for ever, I know in my heart that their will be a day when I choose I want to leave.

I don't know when my final day will be, it might be today or billion years from now, so the purpose of this poem was kinda a reminder to my family that I love them. So if I am to die suddenly, this poem will be my leaving note.

Dear Dad
We've had some good times and bad times, like most people. One thing that I admire about you is you ability to forgive (especially me) I guess that is where I take my ability to forgive from. At the moment of writing this I am 28 years old and living with you for my life as been amazing, even if we do argue occasionaly, but good kind of arguing, you make me think and question things, any person would be lucky to have a dad like you.. My happiest memory, there as been many but I would have to say, the first time I ever won chess agaisn't you, you never let me win, but I didn't give up and when I won it meant so much more.. I know life hasn't been the best friend to you but I do hope that the next life is everything you wish. I love you.

Dear Mom
Hi mom, like dad, we have had good times and bad times, but every family does I guess. Some good times that I remember are playing monopoly, I love that game. I am grateful for the times when you have given me a lift to places and when a few years ago you loaned me some money. I hope that one day soon, you get the things in life that you wish for. I love you.

Dear Brother
Hello, boooooooo, I'm a ghost, lol. (If you reading this after I die) if not then I will see you the weekend. I have no problem admiting this, I love you more than anyone else on this planet, not only are you my brother but I consider you my best friend and I hope and pray that in our next lives that we continue to be friends. I might not have been the best brother growing up and for that I am deeply sorry for. Nearly all my life I have felt alone, but you made me realise that I wasn't truely alone. I enjoy when we talk, I look forward to when we visit each other and I hate it when we fight. I love you and I will always love you.

To everyone else that as read this, I hope that all your wishes come true, I realise that you don't know me, I try to express who I am in my poems but one thing that you should know about me is that I generally do love each and every life form. (You, cats, dogs, mice, aliens, everything)

I hope that I will have many many many more years left and I hope that they will be fun, but I also have to accept that anything can happen so I wanted something out there that I had written to express how I feel.

Thank you for reading and where every you are reading from I hope you are having fun and enjoying the day.
Craig Harrison Jul 2014
Does anyone else have that little voice
the one at the back of the mind that tells you to say something
or sometimes you shouldn't have.
The voice that tells you, you made a mistake,
well I have that voice all the time
some people call it the conscious, well mine hates me
I always make a mistake in his eyes.

I shouldn't have said this
I shouldn't have sent the friend request
don't give them your number
quit, go on quit
I'm never good enough for that little voice
I always make mistakes.

One day this week the little voice told me this
You're not good enough
you won't ever get anywhere
hey loser your going to be stuck in the friend zone forever
don't send that friend request
what ever you do don't give them your number.
you idiot, what did I just tell you
you can't do it, you are going to fail
she's out of your league
ha,ha,ha,ha,ha you hurt yourself
hey guess what, they don't like you, no one does.
You see that person over there well they going to **** you
hey Craig don't delude yourself you will never ever be good enough for anyone.
Why do you even bother waking up in the morning
don't talk to that person, they don't like you, hell I don't like you
don't do it, don't you dare do it.
I told you not to talk to her, you always do the same thing and now she's going to hurt you.
Craig, hey Craig, you ****.
Your going to hell, you will never escape, you will never be forgiven, you will rot in hell.

That little voice in my head, it might hate me, and when I was younger I might have listened to it, but not anymore, I am not the voice, I am me. It might be right, the things the little voice says might be right but I don't care, I like who I am, I'm always improving and on my death bed I will have no issues with who I turned out to be.

You say you're worried
but where were you when the rain lashed against the windows
and the clouds turned black.
The darkest time of my life
where were you then.

The day that the hope drained and the darkness creaped in
when the sun set and the winter came
you say you're worried
but where were you when my heart crumbled
and the tears wouldn't stop.
The darkest time of my life
where were you then.

The day I realised I was alone in this world
when the sadness creaped in
it never left
so you say you are worried
but where are you when you're needed
where are you when I'm screaming out for your help.
The darkest time of my life
where are you then!

From an house to the streets
I'm sleeping in the cold
lying on wets sheets

Seeing strangers used to make me wag my tail
but the years on the streets have left me frail
I bleed from my face and paws
and the people that did this to me hide behind their laws

I cry and no one cares
I've been hit by people with chairs
Where are all the charities that people talk about
no one cares even when I shout
Animals have rights and deserve happiness just like us
Craig Harrison Sep 2014
Then one day something happens
our eyes meet, complete sentences teleported from mind to mind
time slows down, seconds feel like hours
lost in each others gaze, imagining our futures.

For a week that started so bad
ending so great
standing on the beach
sun beginning to set
calm sea washing our feet
guitar playing
we looked into each others eyes and started kissing
stars shining so bright
as we slowly pull away
I see a twinkle in your eye.
Our hearts beating so fast
locked in each others gaze
I just wish this moment could last.

Why don't we live in a world thats free for all to roam
or a city that's as fresh as the country
after all we call Earth our home
so why is it we persecute those who differ from us in anyway
even in the age we live the world discriminates
are you male, are you religious, what's your race
are you fat, are you gay, what's your political views
all this abuse going on right in your face.

Do you love, because I do
do you want peace, because I do
That's the way it should be
me equal to you and you equal to me
the way it should be
Craig Harrison Jun 2014
As I've aged I learned one important thing
the world lied to us
No perfect Christmases
No perfect relationships
No happy ever afters
The world lied to us

Our hopes and dreams
our search for the perfect thing
built up on lies
We've dreamed about our perfect weddings
our perfect days
our perfect homes
but none of it is real
The world lied to us

Our friendships end just like they began
relationships crumble like a house of cards
our hopes change more than our wardrobe
Everything we were told
everything we dreamed and hoped for
all built on lies

Caring what others think
worrying if they are angry at us
thinking about them in times of need

ALL POINTLESS

they don't care what we think
they never worry about us
they never think about how we are

AS I'VE AGED I LEARNED ONE IMPORTANT THING
THE WORLD LIED TO US

WE ARE ALONE IN THIS WORLD
Craig Harrison Jan 2015
Only you can set my heart on fire
Only you can destroy me
on my mind until the body begins to tire
dreaming of you, each night you're all I see
I gave you my heart, only you can destroy me.

I just miss you, in a quite simple desperate human way
Life is not life with out you in it
you gave me life, you gave it meaning
my heart is on fire, a fire that you lit
a fire that as stood but is now beginning to sit.
I miss you, in a quite simple desperate human way.

The image of your smile that sinks further into my mind
the fun times, just a memory
the way you loved, the way you were always kind
Only you can set my heart on fire
Only you can destroy me
Only you can set me free
free from the pain
the memories of you are keeping me sane
set me free from this pain.

As you lay there, sleeping
little did I know
something so evil was beginning to grow
inside your head, something that didn't belong.
You were always so strong
fighting the pain
fighting to be free
but one day you was taken from me.

In my life time I've seen
5 generations of the Iphone
The rise of Google
Bill Gates replaced as the worlds richest man
the continuing transformation of China and India
I've been witness to so much but yet so little

I'm still yet to witness
Man on mars
Alien integration into our society
The end of poverty
World peace
I've seen so much but yet so little

Despite what I've seen and the things left to witness
I can't help but think of those that wont be here to see the future
Rest In Peace to you all
This was inspired by the story of Taylor Smith

Sadly she passed away this year due to complications to pneumonia
while her parents was going through her things they found letters she had written to people but one letter stood out from the others, it was a letter to her future self 10 years from now.. As I read the letter I couldn't help but smile but once I finished reading I cried a little because I remembered that she had passed.

Ticking and tocking
ticking and tocking
watching the clock as it's ticking and tocking.
Every second that ticks on by, my time is running out
time to repent
time to be forgiven
and time to start over

The clock is ticking and tocking like it always does
a constant reminder my time is running out
no more years or months
no more weeks or days
no more hours or minutes only seconds remain

Ticking and tocking
MY TIME IS UP

Time moves in one direction, memory in another.
So long as the memory of certain beloved friends lives in my heart, I shall say that life is good.
Time removes the flesh from bodies and the blood from hearts
but time will never remove the memories from our souls.

A friend is someone who knows all about you and still loves you
A room without books is like a body without a soul
I don' t know much, but
Good friends, good books, and a sleepy conscience: this is the ideal life
For time destroys, nothing lives on
but the clock that constantly moves will never destroy the memories that live on in our souls.
Inspired by the words of:

William Gibson, Helen Keller, Elbert Hubbard, Mark Twain, Marcus Tullius Cicero

Let me know what you think

Lonely blue marble out in space
moving ever so slowly while your brothers and sisters watch from a distance
so many things they've seen
Evolution,  revolution
War, genocide, extinction

Lonely blue marble out in space

unique, special, amazing
dieing as your brothers and sisters watch on.

Lonely blue marble out in space
slowly being destroyed by the human race
Rest In Peace my dear friend
I'm sorry that one day you will come to a tragic end

Tugce Albayrak

If you don't know the story of Tugce Albayrak, she was a 23yo German who stepped in to protect 2 teen girls from a group of men. Sadly one of the men attacked Tugce later that day in the Mcdonalds car park and she slipped into a coma, her life support was turned off on her 23rd birthday after recommendations by doctors.

Not only did Tugce save those 2 girls she also carried a donor card and her organs will go onto save even more people.

With so many superhero movies coming out recently, she might not have had special powers but she was special and also a hero.

Twinkle twinkle little star
I have no idea where you are.
Up above the world so high
I wished I could see you before I die.

When the blazing sun is gone
the human race will live on.
Then you show your little light
Twinkle twinkle little star, shining so bright.

Then the traveler in the dark
travels through space on his ark.
He could not see which way to go
if he could not see your shining glow.

Far away you keep
never getting to sleep.
For you never shut your eye
until it's your time to die.

As your bright and tiny spark
helps direct his ark
I have no idea where you are
twinkle twinkle little star.

It's always been a problem
but one most of us ignore
we never think it would happen to us
or to anyone we know
we always think we're smarter than that
but what would happen if you became homeless

We see these people on the streets
outside shops, around town
most of us ignore them
as individuals we can not help eliminate homelessness
but united we can
It's said that it would cost over $20billion to eliminate homelessness in the USA, to eliminate it world wide it would cost a hell of a lot more but it's something worth eliminating... The top 10 richest people in the world are worth over $500billion and that's only the top 10.. As I said as individuals we can't eliminate homelessness but united we can..

He didn't need to die to be a ghost
for years he walked these hallways, going unnoticed
he was like a blur to those who passed him
teachers couldn't remember him
No parents to speak of, one day they just never came back.

Average student, never pushing himself
never showing up on anybody's radar
going unnoticed, going unseen
no friends to speak of, no one knew he existed

He was surrounded by hundreds of people
but lived his life not seen
no one saw his tears
no one saw his art
he went unnoticed until the day he died.

Police found him
he couldn't take it anymore
ended it all
he spent his life unnoticed
but he was a brilliant artist
his art was seen
hanging up in some amazing galleries
everyone now knows his name.

The heart beats the sludge through the body
while the mind waits to collect more subsistence
feeding and gorging itself
Always wanting more, because it's never full

It's not sludge that the heart beats
It's anger, constant anger, just pushing through the body
the mind sits feeding and gorging itself
not realising that it's become something ugly and unrecognisable

When you're cold you're a solid
If it's hot you're a gas
But usually you're known as a liquid
Or even a huge ice mass

You created the land of ice
And sank the ship Titanic
Now home to sea life
Who live in the Atlantic

We are the slave and you are the master
With out you we'd die much faster
You feed our plants and our trees
You fill our Oceans and our Seas

Water we really need you
In-fact all forms of life do

You're so precious and rare
As a species we should take better care
Please leave feed back, if bad feedback if you have it.

As the rain falls and the rivers run filling the oceans for life to be born
traveling for miles and hundreds of years
or existing as our tears
the water we drink, the showers we take, the pleasure we take from swimming

Hydrogen and Oxygen mixed together
but the water we have won't last forever
the rains still fall
the oceans get bigger
but one day in the future
the sun will glow and glow, the ozone will go
Water will dry, deserts will expand
but life will kick on
The most important thing in our lives
will be gone
This is actually a rewrite to a poem I wrote last year called water which if you'd like you can check out here

On a starry night I look up at the sky
So many planets in the universe to see
yet I fear I will never see them before I die

From Earth to Mars
How long until we visit other stars
Are we alone, or do we live in a clustered neighborhood
So far we have only been to the moon
where Neil Armstrong once stood

Our efforts are on Mars
when they should be further
The ideas exist, the money does not
We should be working together before our bodies rot

As a planet we should achieve and explore
working together we can see what is out there
Sure it will be scary, seeing the unknown
but we are explores, people in our history have shown

When we first met I knew that it was meant to be
But I had to find some way to make you see
Every time I hear your name my heart skips a beat
When you walk through the door I need to take a seat
Every night you’re the most beautiful person in the room
In fact you’re the most beautiful person on the planet
Except for me of course

I stand here today to show you my love
I love you baby
I can’t wait for this day to be over
So I can spend the rest of my life married to you.
All that are uploaded today are old work, but thought I would share them with you guys. Please leave feedback, its the only way I can improve

At night I hear the cry's of so many
the tears they release, the pain they feel.
Seeing my Brothers and Sisters like this breaks my heart
each day thousands of them die. No food or water.
How?

None of us asked for this life
none of us wished to be born
How can life be worth living
when so many of us struggle to live.
The basics we need, food and water
can not be found except in the hands of the rich.

Millions of the poor die each day
while the rich sit on piles of money.
For what purpose, for what gain
For war and greed
Who are you fighting, who are you stealing from.
Why not give us free water and free food
WE HAVE A RIGHT TO LIFE BUT NOT THE RIGHT TO KEEP THAT LIFE
Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed it, if you have any questions please ask them and I will try to answer them a.s.a.p.

You say you understand but you don't
you think you know us but you don't
we feel trapped all the time
and alone
we're the ones that con you
not for evil but for companionship.

Have you ever hated something so much
you fantasize about going crazy
just to escape this horrible reality.
We're the ones that don't qualify as normal
we're the ones that see the world differently
and finaly we're the ones that finds society
STUPID
Not going to appeal to everyone, but let me know your thoughts

When you say I'm not a proper man, what am I then?
I read and write, I like poetry and I like romance
I might not like fighting or drinking like most men
but I'm not ashamed to admit that I have feelings and I'm not scared to express them

I like to watch ballet and listen to Opera
I like a bit of Mozart and some Beethoven
one of my favorites is Pachelbel's Canon in D
I think it's right when a man gets down on his knee

I believe in love, princes and princesses
I watch films like The Notebook and The Lake House
I like walks on the beach and watching the sun set
and I get scared when I come in contact with a threat

I like antiques and museums
I like art and shopping
So I might not be the same as other men
but if I'm not a proper man what am I then

I like football, I like fast cars
I want to take a trip to the planet Mars
I don't like cleaning, I've never had my nails done
I like women and I've always wondered what it'd be like to shoot a gun

So if I'm not a proper man, what am I then?
This is the second one, I hope you like it.

What if,
We were alien
we don't really exist
we talk to our self when we think we talking to someone
would we ever know if our mind was playing tricks

What if,
we knew everything but suffer some form of dementia
the universe in really the size of a football
we all look like bugs
we're all dead
What if the universe only began when you were born
what if time was altered and before today you never existed
What if everything we ever thought was true
was actually a lie.
Ask yourself, what if?
and would you ever know, really!
Always question What If

I've asked once
I'll ask again
What is love?

Love for ourselves
Love for our family
Love for our friends
Love for our pets
So many types of love
but what about love for life

We love our pets
but what about
the ants
the birds
the fish
the trees
and maybe
love for aliens

What ever love is
can you really explain
how you feel for the things you love
As I've got older I've learned to love all life, the big, the small and even the strange but one thing I never thought I would come to love would be A.I (Artificial Intelligence/Consciousness) but in March this year there will be a film released called Chappie and after watching the trailer I found myself having emotion of love and a feeling of protection for the robot. If you haven't seen the trailer I recommend it because it looks like it will be a brilliant film, but I guess what I'm trying to say is that this poem was inspired by the feelings I felt while watching this trailer.

Anyway I hope you enjoy/enjoyed reading, please leave comments if you have any.

Have a great day :)

What is love?
I think it's a virus
infecting so many people
and yet so many are immune.
Left untreated it can lead to a broken heart.
What is love?

We act like it no longer means anything
but we feel it
for friends, family, pets or that special someone,
arguments cause us pain
it can hurt more than we thought, a broken heart

WHAT IS LOVE?
I THINK IT'S A VIRUS
