There’s a kind of beauty that’s purified and distilled
To fit squarely in the most rarefied
Of circles, given form and molded
Into an image of awe worth being storied.

Fleshed out, pieced delicately
Sculpted exquisitely and a sunny
Complexion mixed with a chocolaty
Hue splashed, oozing acute aristocracy.

Ingrid embodies this angelic likeness
That’s pure and unblemished, spotless
Inspiring reverence and a tendency to impress.
Demure she is her heart ensconced in a fortress.

Her smile lights the heavens aglow
Her demeanor barely spotting a flaw.
A kind of beauty that rids the lungs of air
The family is smiling on the dinner table.

This morn the hearse lifted the pall of hush
as white flowers rolled on wheels
lifting the spirit to heaven with the incense smoke
and the electric furnace like the magician
shrank the remaining kilos into neat pile of ashes
for the river to scatter to the sea of infinity
amid the silent prayer we're alive, long live the dead
the trudge back home where the count is one less
on the dinner table
mourning and celebrating.

After the reign of rain
And five years of drought and doubt
The fecund world is green again
With sugar packets growing

Plums aplenty on trees one and two
Cherries and blueberries ripen apace
Late blooming apples
Three varieties, small as olives

Festoon trees one to four
Grapes, clusters of little green B-Bs
Promise wines, jams and galletes
A feast after famine

Best yet, peaches!
Only one last dry year
Now, dozens upon dozens
Fatten in the June sun

the leaves dip
and sway,
caught in the
breezes of
a rainy
day,

little shadows
light like stars
the sudden rain
falls and the
leaves shiver
on their stems
patchworks
of silky greens
infinity of edge
on a high, high ledge,

echoes of a storm
in the violet light
shadowy branch
droplets tumbling
as if a rain drop
touched the
golds of the
winding wind.

i.

sea, oh, sea,
sail that
billows,
blind breeze
of whispering
sea.

ii.

water of curls,
bright path
bird of more,
bright bird of
shore
spreading
out, wings like
cloth.

iii.

rhythm and
******, springing
vault, floods of
water scattering
like light on the
set of the sun.

iv.

sea-rose of poise,
**** of black
bubbles, sea
of storm and
might.

v.

oh, sea, river of
my blood,
drowning dark,
drumming
sound of waves
giddy, washing
the shore
as if the night
could never stay
or the clouds
could carry
the thirsty brine.

South-by-Southwest
Her silver wings
dipped in gold
soared through our hearts
couragion bold

Purified election
supple selection
I am the piece you nuzzle
to complete the puzzle

Lost and lonely
the sun's warning
Pluto's cobalt seas
Uranus storming

Beyond the horizon
Beyond 4g of Verizon
Astral forming
She's the morning
