within the lunar and stellar
landscape's terrain
the dreamer shall reach
a marvelous domain
an infinite amount of possibilities
live in this plain
journeying to its wonderland
our ultimate refrain

children we can be
in the ginormous playground
we'll giggle at all
the amusements that are found
there will be lots
of entertainments e'er around
plenty of happiness will reside
on its merry go round

this though has grabbed
many a child's attention
to take a magical carpet ride
to a celestial dimension
we adults recall the fantasy
of its inception
our young hearts filling
with joy's cheery invention

the inner child breaths
in our mind's eye
sometimes it likes to fly
like a kite on high
in this amazing realm
dreams never die
their potentiality lifts us
with a sparkling spry

is his calling card
he'll be rhyming it
like Bill the bard

**
**
**
we'll hear him
in our city and country surrounds
he'll be singing
his ditty
as he does his rounds

**
**
**
the red suited guy
he'll be bounding around
with a sack of tinsel tied pressies
ten miles high

**
**
**
he's on his annual run
and he'll be bringing
us big and little kids
lots of fun

**

**
I'm checking
the size of my chimney
so dear old Santa
can fit down it comfortably

soon we'll be

she held a prized position
in the cottage garden bed
on sighting her beauty
men would turn their heads

of rich red glory
of ravishing rogue
of such sublime hue

enticing were her petals
enthralling her perfume
comely twas the ardor
she excited in a man's plume

as she swayed in the soft breeze
as the sun shone upon her bloom
men became entranced
by her tantalizing loom

the
power
of
her
flower
alluring
bewitching
the
regal red rose
so
charming

dolly loves to be handled
in a particular way
the rougher it is
the better she likes the play

she cries for the string
to be bound ever tight
so her neck glows
with a blood red sight

dolly loves those sharp pins
to be driven well in
so they make ***-holes
in her delicate skin

she's always pleading
for more pin puncturing
which gives her a lot
of deep pleasuring

dolly sweet dolly
it's time for the rough house play
to conclude

dolly sweet dolly
the handling you so relish
is so crude

dolly sweet dolly
don't request the string and pins
again

dolly sweet dolly
your owner
wants to refrain

I can not live without the sun to wake me up and warm my face
I can not live without my family no one could ever take their place
I can not live without friends to guide me along the way and their mere presence brightens my day
I can not live without the moon and stars to close my day
They are my silent lullaby relaxing me for a peaceful slumber
I can not live without poetry breathing in life to my soul
I can not live without all these important things and many more
There is one thing I can live without, it is called regret because it always
  takes a negative toll
I try to live with as few regrets as possible.

Why did he not bother to contact me
That is the big question which shall remain
From our conversations he did abstain
Other matters were more pressing for he
His mind sidetracked by sweeter terrain
The grass twas much greener at that place
It held sway over my unattractive space
A well lit foyer made the seeing real plain
He deployed an axe to chop the line
Dead twas the telegraph no more chit chat
Pickings of delectable kind he'd pursue
Mine were akin to a dull farmyard swine
I was as blind as a cave dwelling bat
But I now know the color of his hue

the grim reaper adverts
show on television sets
told of a disease which
was not sparing of upsets

the virus spread quickly
among the gay community
so too within the *** worker
and blood donor's fraternity

famed people contracted
its most awful lade
they weren't excused
from its dark *****

their faces became
very hollow of look
not like those seen
in a healthy picture book

International Aids Day
is marked on the calendar to- day
a day to remember the many folks
who won't be here this day
1/12/2014  is International AIDS day.

upon her lips
the poisonous asp
did caress
the venom of his kiss
bought her certain death

yet she'd been kissed
by a lover who'd pledged
her all living glories
the deceptions of his love
bought manifold pain
to her heart and soul
that
she
couldn't
bear

at rest finally
with the asp's toxin
inside her being
she slept
painlessly
until
eternity

with but meager tools
the poet went to work
fashioning
a
poem
of
craftsmanship
form the seemingly bland rock
of a blank ashen page
he sculptured
the words
with
a
pick
and
chisel
he bought images to life
with a depiction
so
sublime
on completing
the task
he put the finishing touches
on
the stone's parchment
a fine rasp
he did employ
to refine his lines
of poetic artistry

down by the river
a public house once stood
it attracted a clientele
from the town's neighborhoods

the oversees and laborers
would whet their whistles
after a big day working
amid the scrub and the saffron thistles

on the afternoon
of September ninth 1932
in the pub's kitchen
a fire did brew

the flue of the Metters stove
caught alight
which made the cook
scream in fright

from the bar the proprietor
ran at speed
to bucket water
on the flame's greed

town's folk tuned up
with hessian bags
to stub out the embers
that were raging in the building's rags

but their efforts to contain
the fire were all in vain
the watering hole was consumed
by the fast pace of the flammable bane

at the rear of the pub
a charred body was found
he'd not escaped
the flares which did surround

the itinerant bur cutter's
ghost loitered at the pub's site for many a year
he'd appear on nights
when the skies were darkened in drear

the fire at the drinker's establishment
is still spoken of in town
that fateful day the hotel's stove
burnt the drinker's house down
This piece is part fact and part fiction.

they don't ask questions
they act there and then

guns on the streets
randomly blasting away
ever poised to cut short a life
with a ruling spray

guns misdirected
not utilized with forethought
causing the Afro American community to feel
like it registers a naught

the leveling bevel
of justice not seen
control is in the hands of cops
with bullets so keen

on the streets a disquiet grows
black youths given little of no chance
by the men in uniform
who call the dance

they mow them down
they take lives away
which leaves on the streets
a saddening tear to stay

I'll hold you baby
with the fibre of a man
I'll hold you baby
tighter than any man can

you'll be my only squeeze
you seductive thing
when we're tightly holding
there will be heaps of zing

so don't mark time baby
I'm sold on you
and together we'll make
a sweet sugary dew

baby
baby
baby
my arms are willing

baby
baby
baby
around you they'll feel thrilling

so baby lets start connecting
real soon
my arms are saying we'll make
one heck of a hot jazzy tune

I'll hold you baby
I'll hold you baby
yeah
yeah
yeah
