with but meager tools
the poet went to work
fashioning
a
poem
of
craftsmanship
form the seemingly bland rock
of a blank ashen page
he sculptured
the words
with
a
pick
and
chisel
he bought images to life
with a depiction
so
sublime
on completing
the task
he put the finishing touches
on
the stone's parchment
a fine rasp
he did employ
to refine his lines
of poetic artistry
