The air brakes
and rumble of a bus

pulling out
of town

and the buzzing
fly

of what would've been
if we had just stayed put

and is there progress
or  forward motion

when
there's lament
An abstract word painting

Bound to the Earth
A wraith in poor disguise
A fountainhead of hurt
Erupting from the eyes

This waterfall of pain
Cascading all around
Creates a toxic stain
Where only death is found

I cast my gaze above
Toward the crystal spheres
That lofty land of love
Beyond my sea of tears

Out past the path of Mars
Where only angels fly
I long to meet the stars
Be buried in the sky

Told him and warned him,
if he continued to hit me
Told him and warned him,
just what I would do
Swore on his life,
he was willing to bet me
That was one bet,
he would willingly lose

Told him and warned him,
but he didn't believe me
Told him and warned him,
he had no clue
Of the gun I kept hid,
on my side of the mattress
Guess he never figured,
that I'd follow through

Told him and warned him,
still never saw it coming
Told him and warned him,
of this raging storm
Apparently,
he didn't believe me
Of this promise kept with no regrets
wasn't like he wasn't warned

There was a rose.
Heavy and wild.
A flower in a tunnel or going down.
He loved sleeping under the stars.

She loved being in the painting.
But it doesn’t matter.
It’s just words.

What about the beer?
Special kind.
It really is.
Let me fly.
I’m just in here listening and loving.
We only dream when we sleep deeply.
Sinking.
Into all the real truth.

I love you,  I make you love me.
Cause you are all I need.
Like special beer and wine.
And all that’s good.
Nothing else is worth it.
Living for. 😢

There’s a rose.
And everybody loves her.
And she’s dying.

If  I could paint your sunrise
in the colours that you choose
trust me , I would
except I know
you haven’t paid quite enough
attention
to blue, yet.

The hushed embrace of midnight's reign,
Where shadows dance and secrets hide,
I yearn for your presence, a beacon's flame,
Amidst the world's slumbering tide.

Like moths drawn to an alluring glow,
I seek your solace, your warmth's embrace,
In the depths of night, where emotions flow,
Misery finds comfort, a kindred face.

In this vast universe, where stars ignite,
Our bond endures, a celestial thread,
Like planets pirouetting in perfect light,
Our paths entwined, forever ahead.

guy scutellaro
daughter of Icarus
searching for a distant light
or maybe you've heard
the distant voice
of Harry Crosby

his Black Sun
calling you
into the Minotaur's labyrinth
on a long
lonely
night

waxen heart
wings on fire
she meets her connection
at Chik- fel- A

cross that line
past the edge

how high can you fly
and never reach the sky?

guy scutellaro
heavy rain from a darkening sky
and buildings  fall

no one knows what will be left
running down the nowhere
where dreams die
on a metal tray
at the hospital morgue

trouser leg pushed up
the search for black ink
and a child's name
begins

perhaps the arm
the hip

the back?

and the children plead,
lie to me,
tell me,
i won't die,
today

and the silent screams
are left in an eternity of why?

foul and bitter hearts
will prevail
on both sides,
this is the poetry of death
