If I had a son
I'd love him with my life -
I'd stretch the boundaries of my own health
just to keep him from strife.

If he was ever upset,
I'd comfort and scare away his fears,
I'd cuddle his little body
and love away his tears.

Upon the loneliest of days,
I'd mess around, tickle,
make him smile -

I'd run along beside him,
even if it was for the longest mile.

And in the darkest of nights,
I'd show him the sparkling Moon,
the glowing Mars -

I'd shower him with my undying love
and ****** him to the stars.

You're a thousand miles from heaven
and a million years amidst the stars,
from the world, there's a difference within you
yet I still can't figure out who you are -

with every dragging step I take
and every blast that peppers me with flak,
it seems that the only love I gave
drew you out of the blue, and into the black.

I still see your satin body sheening
fresh out of the shower and fair,
little droplets of water, glittering
like minuscule diamonds in your hair.

But beneath that flame kissed skin
I pierced your chest, tainted your heart -
I'm sorry dear, but my sins
would've always offset our love, even from the very start.

And that is why I'm here
to say sorry, apologise for everything that I've done;
it seems from this distant, confused predicament,
there's no easy place neither of us can run.

But no matter what happens next
or if you choose to hurt me, like I did you,
I'd understand completely, because after all
you can't love someone, if that love is untrue.

If you love someone
You never want to let them go
If you love someone
You’re not afraid to let it show
If you love someone
You’ll cherish the day you both met
If you love someone
You’ll never let them forget
If that someone loves you
Don’t let them go
Be true from your heart
Or they may never know

Some say
she is lost to writing poems
snippets, little vignettes of beauty
so much nature inspired, obsessed
with green, botany driven desires
forever in skies, blue, or black with stars
meteor showers, falling, melting
like the liquid silver, red sea of mars
crashing waves, her days
tossed, tumbled, stumbling onto poetry
there is no fault, in words
no shame to be made
would be a sorrowful price to pay
she is writing to find
some truths, a sleuth, a seeker
of going within, without doubt
writing to find herself
most days searching out signs of life
to feel what it would be like, to be
in trees, in leaves, to sleep in green towers
of garden lily bowers
to finally dream in lucid colors, surreal
climbing invisible ladders
in orchards of apple blossom Springs
to sing, sing, sing

I deserve, I demand

Respect
Honesty
Love
Compassion
Forgiveness

If you can't do these simple things for me
You have no place in my life or my heart

I have high standards
And no time for *******

I'm worth it

Peace

What did I do that you let me go
After sharing my bed
Playing the part of my beau

Day after day I gave you so many chances
You just threw me away like all your other failed romances

You said relationships were not for you
Now I know how much this is true

I was blind in love and could not see
This much I know, there is nothing wrong with me

I know the dealer
at the Game of Love.
He smirks as I sit down.
We go way back.
He has dealt me in
more than a few times.
I know his sticky fingers,
his devious, crooked smile
radiating amused certainty.
I know his game is rigged,
he knows I know it too,
but it's the only one in town.
I have never held
a winning hand
at his corrupt table,
never even won a game.
I thought that was all
in the bitter past.
But here I sit again.
He shuffles and sneers.
He knows a sucker
when he sees one
and I am surely marked.
With a smug look
that says he knew
I would be back,
his eyebrows arch
a cynical question.
He knows I am too old
for this impossible game,
but he knows how much
I want to play.
I nod toward him,
but he insists I speak
the invocation out loud.
“Deal me in,” I say
and the cards begin to fly.
I know this dealer
at the Game of Love
and he knows I must try.
