There’s a quiet place in my mind
One that I keep trying to find
Where it’s never trouble
And I always know just what to write

Lying down with head in the grass
These nice, warm, sunny days never last
Watch the smoke rise like clouds
Catching a train, she’s on her way out

With guitar I’m left, hanging here
Still a boy, with poems of “no fear”
Too early to bed down
Simmer the swimming thoughts in my head

I’ll go now…
To that place that I said,
So that I don’t run around here screaming
All the words I left unsaid

I was just a young lady,
Working to be something that I wasn't,
Night and day, no weekends off,
Minimum wage, flirting for tips,
It was a job, and that was it.
I was bagging up an order,
Grilled Pork chop, green beans and fries,
when a large man took me by surprise,
Said are you really going to work here, you should enjoy your life,
I just blew him off, didn't give him a second thought,
He told me I should be kid while I still could,
But the truth was I hadn't been a kid for a long time.

My lover asks me:
"What is the difference between me and the sky?"
The difference, my love,
Is that when you laugh,
I forget about the sky.

Blank page: you intimidate me
I try to fill you up
With black
But it looks like dirt
Sharp Words
Harsh scratches-
Rigid on the page
Aligned unnaturally
Just
                 Empty
                                Space
          To                                              fill
My thoughts do not thrill
Victory-the blankness has been killed

Not knowing Your way.
I was broken from falling
Fear dwelled deep within.
I trusted only me,
To see me through.

Then I saw the light shining

I could see without falling
As You lighted the way.

And took away the fear.
I learned to trust You Lord,
To see me through.

Of the shadow of death.

No fear dwells within me
as my journey here will end.
I trust only You Lord,

Are with me to the end.
I will step into the light.
I will see the glorious sight.
I will finally be at home.. in Heaven
