there are two types of sadness

there’s the kind of sadness
we ignore and
try to get rid of it
by finding new things to do
or we find someone to talk to
by blatantly avoiding any type of conversation
about feeling sad
about having any feelings at all
and then there’s that kind of sadness
that takes over
and it consumes any activity we do
we know it’s there
and there’s no possible way to avoid it
so we feed it exactly what it wants
it craves the sad music
it craves the isolation
it craves the anxiousness
and the sadness comes storming in
it has no manners
here we are calling sadness, an “it”
when all it is
is a feeling
that most people
call home

Don’t you ever want to run?
run away

A place you’ve dreamed
wished
But never been.

Somewhere no one knows you
A place that lacks judgement
Control
and doesn’t consume your soul.

To breathe its very air
heals all your despair.

By walking on its grounds
you discover new sounds.

Maybe it is real
Maybe it’s in our head

But I will forever seek for it
before I am dead.

Her lips are like
wet orchids, dressed in
the spring rain,
waiting to be
kissed and
caressed.

i've never been one to write a love poem
no stretch to see that's true
so mark this down as my last hope
to tell you i'm in love with you

as many does as there are don'ts
as many don'ts as does
this simple fact won't leave me alone
the fact that i'm in love with you

what i wouldn't give to write a love poem
one to make the mountains move
to let you know you are the one
if i wrote a love poem, it would be you
