I'm going to be a hermit
And hide my life from view
Get my act together
Maybe start anew

Good morning will be the sunrise
Sunset will be goodnight
Maybe I'll work it out
Hope I'll be alright

The birds will sing their song to me
My heart may fill again
Skies fill with their dark clouds
It begins to rain

The rain will hide the tears I cry
And bathe my weary soul
This heart could be once more

**Broken...mended...whole.

A boy knowing nothing
fell for the heavyhearted girl
realizing this love was in vain
he walked out a deeper person

A girl tender and innocent
crushed by a boy
longing and heartbroken
she walked out sorrowful

love changes you
this is more of a story than a poem. I'm kind of experimenting here.

My Yellow Bird

Q
One day I'll meet my yellow bird,
or maybe I never will.
One day I'll find my yellow bird,
or maybe I already have.

My yellow bird wasn't my first love --
it might not be my second.
But then again, maybe it will.

One day I'll find my true love
and we will never part.
One day my true love will find me
and our lives can start together.

My true love could be near,
my yellow bird could be far
but either way, I'll find him.

I'm sorry I didn't tell you at first.
I'm sorry I took my time.
I'm sorry I'm not your age.
I'm sorry we're apart.

I'm sorry we barely talk now.
I'm sorry you can't see me smile.
I'm sorry I haven't kissed you yet.
I'm sorry I sometimes make you mad.

I'm sorry I think of you all day.
I'm sorry I dream of you all night.
I'm sorry I whisper your name.
I'm sorry I can't get you off my mind.

I'm sorry I love you so much.
I'm sorry you are my life.
I'm sorry I'll never let you go.
I'm sorry I fell for your charm.
I'm sorry I can't show you how much you really mean to me. I love you.

You want me to stop loving you...

fine
then here's a knife

cut my heart
from my naked chest.

You want me to stop saying I love you...

fine
take these scissors

cut my tongue
from my open mouth.

You want me not to feel love for you...

fine
take this axe
and chop off my hands.

Happy Now In your ignorance

for love is not in the heart or word
nor is it in touch

love is deeper
way beyond the understanding of you and I

for love once given
can never be taken backnor taken from one

it's the scent
you wear unnoticed upon your skin

the image of a smile
that lifts you when others knock you down

it's the uncertainty and the doubt
made trivial beneath the weight of promises
and kisses

it's here
it's all of me and more

for love lives on
long after you or I my dear

erase me from your life
your photographs and video collection

but
I'll still be playing on your mind

I'm Sorry

I'm sorry. I guess.
I think I should be,
I think I hurt you.
But I had to find out second hand.

I'm sorry. I guess.
That you didn't talk to me,
Because ignoring me
Is colder and crueler.

I'm sorry. I guess.
That we both were hurt,
You didn't understand how I felt.
I never told you.

I'm sorry. I guess.
We were close,
Too honest,
Too free and easy going.

I'm sorry. I guess.
That you ever felt that way,
Becuase I never did.
But maybe I felt something.

I'm sorry. I guess.
I'm just tired of whatever that was.
What we weren't
What you wanted.

I'm sorry. I guess.
You weren't ment to hear that.
I didn't mean those words,
For you to hear.

I'm sorry. I guess.
That you thought I was a better person
And you realized that.
I'm sorry I guess I'm not.

Out the door and on my way
Into a cold, dark, world with skies of gray.
Feeling slightly incomplete
Treading out into the sleet
Looking up into the gray
"Something's different," I hear myself say.

"Light blue?"
Sometimes you can find a little light blue sky in all that gray.
