New Day
Aditya Roy Jun 2020
If I put my feet in your shoes
I will keep talking to you
You shall follow me
If you have a bit of love
Then, we can see it through

A memory of us
In an envelope for when my heart is broken
Smiling ponderously and drinking my gin
What do you take your ice in
Be prepared, here is where we meet

A bunch of flowers with thorn'd ends
With a hint of sarcasm, the barmaids hold you
We welcome you to the new day
Fractured and insecure
We will be
Count to three, when we as one
Shall be released

The new day approaches
When the falcon hears the falconer's call
The sparks fly awry
While the lightning claps under clouded sky
I said if we count to three
We will be released
Do you trust the revolutionary?
A cheeky effort on my part.

Trees Are My Friends
Aditya Roy Jul 2020
A gust of wind brushes over the cold
My face as the sky hovers over my mold
Someday, when the earth wilts as flowers do
Flowers wilt on land as death looms

Huddled lovers in the smoky air filling
Many strangers in sight, sitting together
Where sullen earth finds nowhere to bloom
Falls ebbing into a stream of innocence

Winter Light
Aditya Roy Feb 2020
Far from home
My cousin from the thunderdome
We were marching towards to the front
Sitting in the back
Lyres flew across the sea shack
Where the old man died so poignant
Waiting for my return like he bided breeze

Someone's got it in for me
As each page folded underneath
Night came from another
The witches chanted when comes peace
Thunder met the easy wind coming from East
I bid thee farewell when come light of winter
You wouldn't know me even if you saw into the light

Loveless Hearts
Aditya Roy Aug 2019
If I can respect you like I love ideas
I can conceptualize my defeat
And call it a concept that converses with inner passion
And pain is just a bough of cheap existence expensive as the taste of hashish
Perhaps we could certainly make do with merit and the Ides
Come to doorstep, march on my life and knock on door
Call me up fool from a brass phone booth, matrices
Trapped in the smoked police building we were unwary of the transient redness
Of her eyes brimming with such satisfaction, the many of the few features
All of my love in multitudes, my thoughts become a bit more than I can chew
Many for the few loveless ones

Looking Lucky
Aditya Roy Feb 2020
We went under the moonlight
Life as you remember when there was no gloom
Was where I found it under the bridge
Love was a moonlit evening where we garnered attention
They don't have them on any of those Scandinavian countries
Looks like we were lucky to have other swinging lovers

Banished from watching Arabian Nights
On a lonesome desert stretch where the meandering highway met
The horizon and that crescent moon looked splendid
Tersely, lay spread like a hammock

Song Of Judge Gideon
Aditya Roy Aug 2019
The lively crowd loves us too much indeed
The lovely performer looks us in the eye leer in his meritorious sigh
We could handle our anticipated warning, hurling art across spectral glances of supernatural volunteers
These people would rather sleep than be ghosts in the party
Simply singing, confetti communist architecture, we are all glad Karl
Like kids, we belong to this doltish crowd full of hope and greed
Our dreams protect us in these urchin-laden streetlamps, many of them holding the paper eating their senses
I am me, you are youthful tides
You are in the spring of your pubescence
Judge Gideon sings to us our verdict, laying faith in the party

Aditya Roy Oct 2018
There was a time
I was fine
My mood would agree
By saying "Hey, you're fine"
I felt fine
And I had better days though
Appreciating the greater things
Passed through ages
Studied and taught by sages
Filling my lifelines
They keep my emotions at bay
They ask for more shade
The palm trees
Sway to-an-fro
Now a pearl palliated by the oyster in the sea
With a stagnant show
A show of hands
Told me I can't go further
Any longer
Because my days were through
And my time come
When I had to go
I had to move

Gentle Blight
Aditya Roy Feb 2020
Tither there, where day rises like a mountain
Hither here, comes a tear from the eye of the fallen sparrow
The arms of the clouds envelope the sphere as hair do
So sad and so beautiful
If his hair were wires
Then they'd be most beautiful and black
When Earth will forget us
And we start neglecting mother Earth
Like lovers who have impediments of the albatross
Yet the freedom of birds lost in flight never making it out of the dead sea
So sad yet so beautiful
Such is the curse of looming love
That infects my foliage like a gentle blight
My Lydian weaver, feeding
I'm waiting for your divine providence, my lover

Hopeless Place
Aditya Roy Oct 2018
Love broke apart
My hope
Against hate
And love and hate parted ways
Where a symbol of hope
Symbolized the crossroads
Of the tresses of the birch trees
Hope was an instance of jamais vu
'Cause you came across it too
And I found some metal
In my nerve
It was shrapnel
Of the war-torn soul
And the poison
Of someone's else war pride
And hope was symbol of peculiar
Coincidence
Incidentally
Hope came running
Because hope came to watch
Where I was turning

Like a changed bird in the sky

The scenic beauty is simply intoxicating

At the quiet hours of a starless night
In a hushed town
I wait for you in a cafe in a crowded street
Wanting to tell you

You are the warmth of summer
In the vast lands covered in snow and hail
That melts the glaciers
Turning them into rivers that run free

I was yours
But sometimes you were mine
Beautiful and innocent as this may be
I bury the passion inside

The last time when we met
For a brief moment, I felt a shiver run through me
The heat pulsate from within
A hunger for your sensuous lips

I wish I would have said something
But I'm afraid my heart wouldn't let me
Yet, you are calm and tempered
Gasping as you read this, nudging me to write

I remember what you wore that day
The burning sensation inside
Doesn't fade into the endless ether of memories
I need you now, more than ever

Let me hold you till you are left breathless
Gushing into you and gnashing your *******
Away from the world around
Covering your lithe figure with my scent

Unable to get you off my mind
Under the pale moonlight
I write for you on this starless night
As my poems slowly become void of life

Yet, you still love them
And so I channelize the fire
Letting my poems speak for me
Revealing my darkest desires to you

Sleeping
Aditya Roy Mar 2020
The streets are lit up
Gentleman are chained
Old ladies faces are smokey
Today and yesterday are the same
We have tea from the common cup
Will you find some change in your pockets
Or do I dream on your lazy afternoon
The room is cloudy
The faces of ghosts are visible
Maybe I have had too much *****
Or too much poetry
She wears her spectacles for a change
And looks around for the sign of the day
The house is wearing a coat of laquer and depression
It smells of turpentine in my room
She may say there is too much trouble
If I am sleeping and awake right now
It's because the memories are raw
From the night that passed with uncertainty
I was on the edge of daintiness
So I scrubbed the floor off blood
Men chain me to the floor
In wine lies the truth
I have too many suitors and the fight turned violent
Now I am left counting heads and the women nag me
For a marriage of compromise
They know I sleep on the floor
If candlelight stays I reside by the bed
With a book by Vonnegut
They say don't turn your back to the enemy
Now they call me an embarrassment to my family
An oddball as I wear shoes upside down
With heels faced upwards
And the stilletoes non existent
A service lady could be more in style
Stemmed in hatred
If they ask for betrayal they get it
If you can't beat 'em, join 'em
I run into a dark alley unknowingly
They know I am unloved
River deep and I am mountain high
****** as ice and as watery as Dali's paintings
Smoke rooms and soda are clubbed together
To make a perfect day
Life is a series of perfect days now
I wish I died sleeping

We are reassured by finding a soul
That will understand us
In our innate silence
That's God taking us for a fool
When, you can't speak
You're either stillborn
Or you should speak when spoken to
Although, medically pronounced dead
We are untouchable according to our bodies
So, where's our soul?
In the land of science, where a simple miracle has been given a convenient definition
Without observation, do these church-goers take us fools
Without dedication, this systemic religion has got us by the mass hysteria of reality
Religion is probably levity
If you haven't given up enough for talent
If you have given up enough for more opportunities
Then, you may have all your pies lying on the diamond sky
Counting stars, and pre-existent factors have a couple of things in common
They are uncountable like the riches of the deified land
You're born on this earth, to die for your country
But, that is just a mammon of emotional appeal
Wrought pathos and alacrity

Under her pile of books in college
She keeps a smoked cigarette
Sooner than later
She'll be piled up
Late late late her boss cries
She wakes up
She has now started snooping for greets
The secretary much to her chagrin signs out
She loses her daughter and becomes her paperwork
No one told her school is easy
Keeping a job requires sedulity
And working two jobs deserves an honor
Now the boss laughs when she came late
She snoops from the desk holding life
With a halo of sordid affairs
She manages to feed her children while she rubs their backs
Welfare stamps and everything
She is employee of the year
She has got a car
That she can turn on
As one holds such power
Over there supervisor
Business trips take first priority
She gets the family package
She can be with her family
Or maybe keep them together
No missing faces in the picture
She cries

Of flowers
I couldn't wait to smell
Her leaves
From where the dew drops free
But I had to wait
A thousand mornings
For the flower to bloom
Into the dawn
Before I could see her In daylight and hue
In a morning gown and silken hue
Like petals spread against the cellar door
If I look into her pupils
I will lose my mind
If I flick her anther
I will lose my own curiousity
Curious and coy
She is a lady, alright
I am a preacher among playboys
A floral delight
Who shows her beauty
In disguise
As I close my eyes
She takes my life
And I take her fears

As they screech no more, with the same mellifluous song
Delivering the courier to the house, next door

My lover lives there
Beyond the shore
I adore her in her boredom and ecstasy
She loves me as long as the impatience excites her pleasure, now a desert of vast eternity

We fold envelopes for words to express
Closuring palace and palace within immortal words
From Athens to Rome in homage to her beauty
Colloseum to Parthenon in my violent *******

All of these places exist
In my mind, wrecked like a ruin
I drink a little to wet my lips and dry my tears
The rain never pours on a dead pigeon again

Every Moment

In poetry
We look at every moment
Trying to make it poetic
With nature we cannot be so liberal

It is a blessing that the natural state is evocative
Yet, when it comes to human greed
Children torn by strife and forests devoured in blaze
Poetry has to embellish the truth once in awhile

I respect poets who can write it as it is
Without being cryptic about fact
Allowing men to digest what they read
With eloquence- using Silence and Time as friends

For a poet, every moment missed
Is a word gained
Because the more we see
The less poetic it all becomes
Soon we move on.
