Midnight Rambler
Aditya Roy Mar 2020
Clash of the cracking whips
Crashed from the ceiling above
Rise of the women dressed in black
In long laced stockings to show
Just enjoyed the show
Into the dead of night

Cars race by in the gold of lights
In Folsom
I woke up
In a prison cell
After an eternity in red blue and white
The wooden heart of L.A., they called me

Burned down the gambling house
In despair we counted time
Like watchmen of crime
Aging in frail hours
Was it a movie or a lack of power
By the midnight rambler
Aditya Roy Feb 2019
I live for a dream
A piece of cake it seems
Making up stuff in your head
Letting your thoughts
Do it yourself it is worth the night
Dreaming can't be bought
Dreams can't be sold
But, you can sell hope
To the Pope's followers
I'm sold to lucid dreams of work
My dreams come in green and gold
I guess making money has become the way of the world
Success is all the rotten eggs out of your basket
That's why they lay broken in a green and gold mould

Mould those hopes you have
Into dreams, you can save

Cry your tears
With the silent sayings
Of fortified silence, and challenge them with poetry
Make your sadness your own

Seeded and blue, are the moon and sky

Come and be all I need
We can start afresh with no reason to be asleep
Fish in the seas are romantic too
If your eyes are blue, they'd have green like a river in which they move
My love, can I carve you
If I were a carpenter, I would take two years on thy foot
I would mortgage my soul to be carving next to you

Reddest lips often cherry wood, deserve more than this
As love is, I know it best like my first kiss
T'was when I scuttled for enamoring bliss
Eternity to search for you to treasure the last kiss
Your statue would cast a spell on me
I would be proudest to fill the grave, however
While you humbly grace the cathedral with looks unloved
As pleasant as love is
Releasing hate from existence is as necessary
Love its genial adversary
Our daughters will tear from the bark and spread resin

Dead Lily
Aditya Roy Mar 2020
She was the deadliest
Of flowers
I couldn't wait to smell
Her leaves
From where the dew drops free
But I had to wait
A thousand mornings
For the flower to bloom
Into the dawn
Before I could see her In daylight and hue
In a morning gown and silken hue
Like petals spread against the cellar door
If I look into her pupils
I will lose my mind
If I flick her anther
I will lose my own curiousity
Curious and coy
She is a lady, alright
I am a preacher among playboys
A floral delight
Who shows her beauty
In disguise
As I close my eyes
She takes my life
And I take her fears

The black lights
Of the night
In cream colored
Of black white
Monochrome
Of a lost life
The streetlights
Seem more morose
Than the lamps
Accompanying the front
Of cars and bikes
In the opposite lane
Keeping their lights
In the high line
The lowlands
remind me of the
The lopsided
looks
Of the passer-bys
Coming
To look at us

Aditya Roy Mar 2020
She was just a girl
I want to dream about
Her name was on my mind
That helped through nightmares
Every time I got lost
I would scream her name in my sleep

The true terror of knowing
She would never sleep with me
Drove me to blind rage
I want to break this cage
And open my eyes tenderly
Bloom as I deflower her
In my respectful dream

When the nightmares come
I don't know what will happen to her
I worry about her all the time
Maybe, she just needs me
To be near her
I am usually am not this jealous

Innocuous
Aditya Roy Aug 2019
Many of us really do not
Like writing for fun
So we try our best to have some innocent fun
Expressing our adulthood
In the cries of the night

Some say it's the moon
Some say it's the moon
Some say it's an eclipse
At noon, we all sleep under the brainchild of God
Truant of the pernicious nature of the Sun
And innocuous nature of the moon

Many of us really do not
Like traveling for fun
So we try our best to have some innocent fun
Expressing our riches
In the cries of the night in the arms of a local stranger

Some say it's harmful wine
Some say it's trusted wine
Some say he's well endowed with the same perception
Call it similitude, we border on the art of crying souls
Flourishing their wands at the slightest presence

Many of us really do not all this magic
Try sleeping with your eyes open, and you'll find the beauty
Of closing your eyes to the blue moon that will soon turn
I do not hope to turn

In A Broken Mirror
Aditya Roy Sep 2020
With one reflection
She saw all she wanted
And didn't need, at the same time

But, she accepted them
Just the same
Unable to choose from a million looks and taking as they are

It is unfortunate that she has to make a choice
Because I tell her the mirror
Is flawed because my eyes cannot get used to her

She is accustomed to herself
And that is the real tragedy
If her inner beauty was based on a mirror

Because if that crystal gaze staring at her
Shatters into a million pieces
One in those million would still catch my eye
I'd say,"Hey, you're one in a million!"

Have you very little penny
Coming off the mud
Don't know how it got its head between its tails, it's stuck
Though, like a little beggar
I am slightly afraid, I'll change
These clothes won't fit me no more
The blackness of virtue
The chain of toil and games
Came down on his two shoes
And kept his good faith
His barrister told him
That the judge was quite rude
The talk of lonely poets, I'm afraid that isn't abuse
My faith and my salvation is on my muddied shoes
At least, I will have knowledge of idol worship
But, I will clean some stranger's boots
Cleaner than my blood

This charming pink house
Where we carried out experiments
In and out came the visitors

Slowly cob webs formed inside the rooms

Cloaking over the windows as a tippet does
In and out came the visitors

The charm was gone
Pink turned to red
Little did we know, the house would not be welcome

Sounds tiresome
Socially
Unless you matter

But make up your mind
About life Instead
In dread

For teaching, and learning is a big part of leaving
What education can change, and someone writs education

Composite learning and summing the parts, with the edifices of Bonita Applebum, with subliminal mania you get rid of desire
For learning, as opsimaths and savants have one thing in common, they really understand how they can categorically improve their cognitive abilities
In one case it adds up to two people from very different creative backgrounds

Don’t Explain
Aditya Roy Aug 2019
Look at the time
It’s six and we are approaching
The starlight that heads up high

We are looking at you
It’s nine and we are sleeping like beautiful people
Dead and lifeless, we may be holier than queens too

Poets of the fainting time
Lend us your time
And revive you in the ambition of Popes

Fathers of the falling
Befallen by love, I hope you’re standing
At the abyss of my ruined childhood, burning my creativity

Playing the game if you stop talking, talking about it
Don’t explain, I hurt you myself
Help you up high in only lonesome vacations, that’s it

Father thanks for playing me like the queen of hearts

Of a clear precise meaning

You despise your children?
You follow your breed?
Or greed?
Or just follow the route meant
For the pavements where sleepy souls
Crave for dreams
With impoverished aspirations
Need comes awake
When the sun brings the change
in a small can of tuna

Now out of God's street
Foiled up the coin
In toil
Filled up currently
Maybe more half empty than half full

We have puzzled hearts
That can carry able bodies with conviction
A hole in our heart in this jig-saw puzzle
Can we carry all this strength
Therefore, the ones who feel weak
Are they in the broken places or pushing together the pieces again
A heart can carry me forward and my mind can piece all this together
In the silence of a strong mind
Silent like meek geniuses unsure of their minds
Soon they will be struggling and weighed down doubts
The bright ones will make it out alive
A wise man can travel, and a fool is worse for wear in this stormy weather
Sticks for legs, and stones for hearts having a still heartbeat
Like pieces of a puzzle lying on a table altogether

In the dark of the never-ending night
Instilled by fear
By the places
I dream of sound and sight
My mind oft' wanders
To many memories
Of you laying
In the midnight blue background
Of my colorful painting
With red, black and white
As Plato says
What is surreal?
What doesn't stay?

It's my floating soul
In the memories of a winter
That was so cold
Fog floated by my window
Hidden by the shadow
Nocturnal
That made the feeling so eerily eternal
Now I'll never see a tawny
True owl
Spread its wings in the ghost reveries
Lying in the backdrop
A clairvoyant crescent moon

I am simply shook
By the light
Of the rear window
Opening out to the shady street
Where the trees live
And the moon shines bright
To keep me in the wake
Of night blindness
During the dim days
"He who improvises can never make a perfect line of poetry."-Titian

Aditya Roy Oct 2020
Order and chaos can never coexist
Sin and virtue can complement one another
The textures of an old oak tree persists
Under the weather and torrential helter-skelter of the cold winter

As love is borne from a flawed heart
An eclipsed sun can darken the scarred lands
Blinding those who walk, stalk and trace out a path
For themselves toward a violet sky cowering under the far away stars

With lost children and men knowing their limits
Order and chaos can never coexist
If what persists is the shortness of time
Because time is brief, then, I know love perseveres
Nothing endures, but, change.

You should stop working
For money and start laughing
And start living for just living to jest
Never stop short of making a living and working as a log
Dog days are jokes for the affinity to a lazy afternoon
And you can make a killing
A penny for your thoughts
A brass farthin' for your catatonic piano, mail on Sundays and the same ol' thing
You want to become better at life and greater at living, do not stop short of looking up
If your job allows you to look up, then do so by all means
If by any means necessary, you cannot look at the stars and are blind to the meteors
Your life will never find a purpose or meaning, that's common sense
If you are willing to do that, you have learned the art of living and aren't concerned with the ones already dying
If you are living on a prayer, you can stop dying for peace
Enjoy life! C'est la vie!

My mistress, I escape my fears and favors
You do that everyday in the form of a metaphor
Called love for money and ***

Hey, babe
The skies may not be blue in the evening
We can be together like Heracles and Megara
These are two truths I cannot stage
Because the skies don't live a lie
I cannot change the outcome of books

You said that's the truth and found love
We were supposed to fight the world
Instead, you left the dogs in Hell
You insisted that they would find Heaven
The hell hounds chase me like a charm and contain my mind's pleasures

You're like a little child
Under the covers
Scared of the night
If the water hushes the fire
You never cry
If you can laugh at my patience
You need to walk over me
Berceuses put me to sleep
And war gives me what I need
Greed is a lack of a better word
For the greedy
You're mine and I'm yours
So put me to sleep
Little soldier who needs to pay up
Breathing the world's smoke
From the top of a puppet street with a Panzer
A dubious offer is pure like the strings of gold
In this war there is no silver morning
The dues I get are for kicks
As my baby leaves me in my sleep
My eyes crack open like whips
My boss kicks my guts
When the **** cries to the break of light
You need to walk over my dead body
To feel my pain and bloodshed

For Eternity
Aditya Roy Aug 2020
The sunrise on a cold October month
Will turn invisibly bleak as it is dunned
By olden earth that once was, with no epistle
Tonight those forests will have soft vessels
Within each tattered willow, a raven no more
Amid the quaint land of the earth, without words
On the tides of cold and sullen winter
Like a raven's call that hinted the day's weather
I know not how the verges thinned
But, of the devil, my sorrow lives within
Possessed by deep knees pulled by deep sea
What once was will always be
Of a soul that was once free in the vast emptiness
Now there is a canopy, standing in its place
How do you like this couplet form?
