Walking through the darkness
So you should be able
To spot even a speck of light

Hair sopping wet
And matted against
Her face in strands

Eyes strewn shut
As her head
Tilted towards
The rainy sky

And as their
Eyes locked

The pain in them

Never to do again

As if I was a child
And she was
My favourite blanket
