It must be nice
to have and to hold
And be so bold
to dream us twice

It must be nice
to see us tomorrow
As we see us today
maybe better, who knows

It must be nice
us tomorrow
Like us today
who knows they say.

Charisma, Sharisma
I sleuthed you out
on our first day
in our first class

Doldrums, humdrums
We bored you everyday
Summertime, Classtime
We all bought your charm

Until you made it
Baked on the beach
Fried up, *******
S’how you liked it

Your biopic's
A myopic
Red light, green light
play’n all alone

I shoulda known
I coulda known
Player one’s down
Nowhere to be found

To stir things up a bit, I decided to challenge myself to write a poem starting with the Daily Word from Merriam-Webster for the last 4 days. You can sign up and get a daily email with one word defined and used in a sentence, all that. The words for the last four days were: Charisma, Sleuth, Foray, Doldrums.

I want to be a magician

How nice it must be,
to have a vanishing act,
to disappear,
at the drop of a hat,
to dazzle and amaze
all of the days,
and sleep at their end
with a smile on your face

I want to be a magician

The remote don’t work,
but my baby can dance,
the remote don’t work,
but she can prance, prance, prance

She slides to the left
Shimmies to the right
Makes me smile
That lasts all night

The remote don’t work,
but my baby can dance,
the remote don’t work,
but she can prance, prance, prance

I’m missing sports center
Netflix too
Having watched a ballgame
since 2002

The remote don’t work,
but my baby can dance,
the remote don’t work,
but she can prance, prance, prance

The remote don’t work
And I don’t care
The remote won’t work
And we don’t care

If you were me
Would you care
Would you smile
All the while

If I were you
Could I laugh
Could I forgive
Say it’s okay

Let’s begin again
You and I and
I as you and
You as I and

See the world as you
See it as me
If you were me
And I were you

If I was god
Would the children die
Would their mothers cry
And their fathers rage
If god was me
Would he forgive you
Draw you to his/my chest
Hold you and breathe

But I am God
And so you are
We’re created in his/her image.

So let’s laugh together
I can forgive
and hold you and
inhale your essence

The children then
can stop dying
their mothers crying
their fathers raging

We can all laugh
and hug each other
and breathe in all
that we are and

All that we could be
Because I am
you and you are
me. God created
us, we see.

Emotionally, intuitively, yes. But, right now, there's so much attention on what divides us. Unfortunate, but this too shall pass. Right?

None of them remember,
None of them care,
To them I’m just
A thin line of air.

A line faded
Was it ever there
Can’t remember
Don't really care

How did we know him
Did we know him
I guess not
He left no impression

A line in air
Is never remembered
Nobody noticed
Nobody cared.
