There are times when I can’t get it right. It will sit in the draft mode until it’s ready. Other times I just throw it out to the masses anyway

BLT Webster word of the day challenge
1-15-25 Hackneyed
Lacking freshness or originality.
The sun rose up to a woken slumber
On the west side of the sky
Not realising it was afternoon
For the people on the earth
Surprised they didn’t know which way to go
On a winter’s day, when not many are outdoors
Was it rise or to set, that the sun chose today
To see if it was alright to go other way

parlaying quality action,
obedience to inner voice
in thought, speech, or sanction,
aware of Divine free choice

self-worth for obeisance to opinion
inflating a doomed balloon,
bowing to man, unworthy dominion,
weaving an iron cocoon

insides beats rhythm of hopes and dreams,
like jazz, pulsating nowhere,
screaming aloud it ain't what it seems,
a world that's doomed to failure

Emma
Fire kissed her throat, a burning rose,

and fearless, she entered the cold embrace—

the water, a mirror of shattered stars,

her closed eyes carved constellations,

as the universe spun softly in her veins.
Since I can swim here anytime even I the Winter alone in the cold seas, I have a tendency to float staring at the sky, the stars and listening to the hum of the Earth. I am truly amazed at how small and insignificant we are. Okay I've done this drunk too many times also.

owls at dawn
he had Batman socks and multicolored bracelets
he said time didn’t exist and people are fragile
he gave out pink flowers and talked about pink flamingos
we shared a sandwich and hugged
we said nice to meet you and shook hands
he was warm and kind and peaceful
his talking topics were like stones skipped across a heavy pond
I was a dragonfly investigating ripples
he was silent for long intervals, head bobbing up and down, as he pondered things I said
he made a metal dinosaur skeleton bracelet do a little dance

I fell in love with him right away
