I Am He
Tobias Forrest Oct 2014
I am he who stands unseen,

I am he who scars untouched,

I am he who rests unsaved.

The Darkness
Tobias Forrest Apr 2014
There is a price to pay, I know not when;
the darkness falls and more but then:
forever will you walk alone,
Frightened, discarded, soaked to bone.
Bow your head and cross your hands,
close those eyes, dream of distant lands.
Away from shadow, far from harm,
I see you there for this is my alarm,
side by side yet miles apart,
we'll fight from soul and deep in heart.
You'll know the mourning deep inside,
search your world but far and wide,
waiting for that final race,
Where arms are thrown and hold embrace.

Autumn
Tobias Forrest Mar 2014
Withered life brought low,
with browning stalks and stems.
Twilight of a summer’s day,
in the coming of the Fall.

Swirling clouds of darkest grey,
complimented with the oval drop.
Burst banks and flooded plains,
a river swamping all that lies before.

A naked tree bereft of soul,
creaking cracked in this foul wind.
Strangled without mercy,
and wrenched away from Spring.

Wrapped around the purest heart,
of finest elm and oldest oak.
A vicious corrupt entanglement,
and in certainty will life die.

Yet all pain and sorrow,
must surely wax and wane.
As the turning of the tide
brings hope to one and all.

All dead must fall and heed no words,
of careless thought and wicked mind.
For even as the sun does set,
the stars shine out their brightest yet.

Life
Tobias Forrest Mar 2014
Rain pummels fast,
leaves wildly shiver,
droplets fall with graceless sighs;
the world around in mourning.

The clouds in tears,
and icy water falls.
Earth shall never more be dry,
in the setting of the sun.

Swallowed by this pitied isolation,
with forty breaths too slow and lumbered.
Worthless beasts drown with repentance,
as their rasps are now extinguished.

Creation washed anew,
in isles of splendid beauty.
Prosperity untamed;
until He maims the world once more.

Countdown
Tobias Forrest Mar 2014
Tick, tock, tick, tock.
The clock strike rings.
Tick, tock, tick, tock,
and death rides swift,
on silver wings.

All eyes upon the midnight hour,
when elation shall forsake all souls.
Shrouded in an endless shadow,
and all the Devil’s servant.

Shimmered falling specks of sand,
rising to the hallowed end.
Caged in furies chains,
never to break free.

A silent mournful tick,
from the rugged father clock.
All join hands and take their bow,
together as the final curtain.

Accursed reprieve for eleven’s hated hour,
halting death on her swift wings.
All struggle to but make amends,
as the glass runs smooth and cold.

Surface cracks and hell breaks forth,
to devoid the world of purity.
Winged messengers raise arms,
and stall the coming of our judgement.

Tick, tock, tick, tock
the final strike of that old clock.
Revered sound of shattered glass,
and the ending of this world.

Change Me
Tobias Forrest Mar 2014
I hear the beating of your heart,
I close my eyes from dreams apart.

Nothing I do can make you mine,
when I can’t write one single line.

Whisper in my ear that wondrous night,
I was too afraid and could but fight.

This was my easy game to lose,
I never should have made you choose.

I wished that you could set me free,
from everything I should not be.

Beyond the veil I still see your face,
watching over me as I gave chase.

I never thought I’d be the one,
who messed it up for wont of fun.

An echo in my tortured soul,
and for a chance to be now whole.

There are no more words that I can say,
to make it all seem a-okay.

You told me once that I was wise,
until you saw through my disguise.

There’s somewhere new for us to make,
where it must fail to make us break.

All I ask of you is one last chance,
to change amid a final dance.

Red Wonderland
Tobias Forrest Mar 2014
Red, red, see the red,
climb, up, to the heights,
wish, you, were now dead,
jump, up, lead the fights,
red, red, see the red.

Reach, up, grab that star,
hide, now, from the frights,
wish, you, were too far,
I, won’t, know the blights,
reach, up, grab that star.

Your, eyes, view the sun,
catch, the, fleeting set,
wish, you, could but run,
free, you, from your debt,
your, eyes, view the sun.

Look, up, cross the lake,
wade, through, the dark stream,
wish, you, were my fake,
tear, back, a lost dream,
look, up, cross the lake.

Red, red, see the red,
climb, up, try to fly,
wish, you, were now dead,
fall, down, glide through sky,
red, red, see the red.
Tobias Forrest Mar 2014
Shadow in the dark,
the sound of dogs bark.
Nameless hallowed man,
Far from he began.

Quick the shadow flies,
drops his head and sighs.
Still dark still haunting,
always just taunting.

Watching you it knows,
the horror it sows.
Heart racing eyes wide,
darts into the side.

Lone and forgotten,
shadow begotten.
Covers the nameless,
is all but tameless.

Black cloud overtakes,
until his life shakes.
Increasing the choke,
and going for broke.

Silence in the dark,
and the dogs daren’t bark.
Here the shadows lair,
and you must beware.

Eulogy
Tobias Forrest Mar 2014
Praises, whispered to a crowd bred of inanition.
Contempt, unspoken before now unleashed.
Heedless, death the punishment of such temerity.
Withdrawn, kneeling before the grey stone tomb.

Insanity
Tobias Forrest Mar 2014
A more solemn sight there may not be,

than that of tortured mind locked far away.

Shattered beyond all mortal repair,

and no one else can ever care.

Silent whispers and wicked lies,

torment alone in padded space.

Crawl beneath a wretched skin,

and shunned by even those your kin.

But not all who are so strayed,

are bereft of hope and prayers for change.

A shadow holds on tight and sought,

to make you all so fraught.

Imprisoned with no silver key,

and savage thoughts that none can share.

Alone and backed to the furthest wall,

you reek of desperation to prevent your fall,

but here’s your chance you may yet dare,

for who you never can be.

Frenemy
Tobias Forrest Mar 2014
There’s a part of me you can’t abide,

but don’t mind me, I’m dead inside.

I’m cold, confused and alone,

left to wallow on my own.

You can keep on cutting

But I won’t feel a thing.

Let your knife sink in,

twist it round and go within.

Stab my heart,

I’ll fall apart.

Kick me to the ground,

there’s nowhere left to run around.

I can’t change myself for you,

there’s nothing left to do,

crush my life away,

It’s just another day.

Faithless
Tobias Forrest Mar 2014
How should I know that you care,
when you leave me all alone.
With no word of goodbye,
I’m just not worth your time at all.

You say you’re there for me,
I know that that’s not true.
I’m falling here, so helpless,
but you just don’t want to stay.

Why should I look up to you?
What have you ever done for me?
There’s no where left to turn and,
I know that you’re a fraud.

Your empty words can’t hurt,
no more than I could allow.
Don’t you dare come back
and whisper silent treachery.

I see you when I’m dreaming,
I hear your voice within my skull.
But I shall not be deceived,
No longer am I your man.

I am on to you deceiver,
and I will never be your slave.
It’s time to face the truth,
it could never have been you.

So you lay me here to die,
I know the age old plan.
you’ve watched me all these years,
and now I’m in your claws again.

Why don’t you show your face?
Why hide behind secrecy and lies?
I resisted for such a long time,
Despite the weaknesses of others.

But now you hand me total proof,
and maybe I should have believed.
But it’s all too late and all I crave,
is eternal lasting peace.
