Underneath the bowers,
my lassitude sent me straight
to a heavenly daydream.

Pines, vines, pines,
and vines were intertwined,
and you were mine.

For only in the darkest
palace amidst dusk,
& only in your encompassing
scent of dark musk,
& only in a land
where dim stars shine

Only in such a place,
could you
have been mine.

We had it that night
We lost it just as fast
Fast
Like racing cars
Down sunset blvd and vine
Fast
Like my breathing
As you hold me close
As  my thighs shake
Fast

We had it that night
We lost it just as fast
Vast
Like the sea i swim in alone
Vast
Like the stars i hum to in hopes
Of some savior above
We had it that night
And lost it just as fast
For some things
Some names
Can’t be held on too for too long
Some palm trees sway towards
Another direction
Another wind

I had you that night
& I lost you
Just as fast

The beauty
Samantha Cunha Nov 2018
The beauty is in the mess of it all
the purest moments
unravel
when ones treacherous walls
begin to fall

The source isn't angelic or heavenly
one can seem devilish or deadly
light emerges from the darkest of landscapes
one must find their faith
for the glowing ones
are dark glittering souls
Whom once fell down the depths
of a never-ending black hole

Looks deceive those blinded by the all encompassing white light
One must not be scared, one must let go of the fright

Appreciate the gloomy hours
dance in the heaviest of showers
inhale the scent emerging
from the rarest of flowers
For the beauty is in
the mess of it all

full of
weary thoughts
blocked visions
I dream of a past
which
ceases to exist
one lacking
  impure energies crossing over
an unwanted threshold
I never asked the demons
to cross over to my side
yet  hidden fears can
manifest into the open air
I take a deep breath as
I dive head first into the cold
crisp water and swim into the unknown
water is shockingly cold
  mind is shockingly clear
What lies ahead isn’t nearly
as frightening as that which
I’m swimming
far, far away from

to remember how all you brought was
dampened pages & pain

To remind myself

to remind myself how no

to remind myself

to remind myself how

Samantha Cunha Oct 2021
Birds chirp softly, Hallow's Eve
burnt candles line my wooden dresser
Green paint chipping, fading

Your soft air blows my way
You came like wind
and couldn't stay

like most things in life,

Haunting me

in our final hour.

Birds chirp softly,

Hallow's Eve. Grasping tightly
to one final glimpse
of what could never be.

Like a ghost in my long
Hallway on this tree lined street.

Sun sets slowly
Hallow's Eve
the cars buzz softly.
Lights dim low. Street lights
Cast a soft glow.

I hope to dream once more
Of you and me,
On this heavenly remembrance
Of last
Hallow’s Eve.

Although I may
escape into a dream world
that is purely my own
I know in this life
I am never truly alone
Despite the dreary days of
solitude and disconnection
a deeper understanding  lies
within me
that I am more than merely one being
For I am connected to the higher powers
above guiding me sweetly
For there is no separation
from myself and the sky above
nor myself and the pigeons
on the ground below
alone is a mere illusion
Humans are connected
to that which is above us
that which is below us
never truly isolated
this can be a world of my own
but
I find comfort
in the fact that we are all alone, together

Your eyes are black

Your hands are red

Grasping, grabbing

Me by the moonlight.

Off in a distance-
An abyss.

I contemplate
How deep I can dive
To swim away- or to
Feel anything at all.

Seaside waves crashing
Violently into me,
As are you.

I let out a sound-
But My feet- they
Can’t touch the
Ground.

So now I float
Above the ground
And it’s hard for me
To ever come down.

Eternally lost- and
Never found.

You haunted me
With just one look-and
Your eyes black
Hands red

Now I lie here-
Not quite alive
Nor dead.
