Samantha Cunha Dec 2019
Wrapped up in your moonlit
eyes, from dusk to dawn.
The new dawn is rollin through
the tides of my mind,
as we lay high on the precipice
of time past, and time present.
When the call arises,
leave me by the translucent sea,
where the wind and breeze
got me down on my knees.

Destruct me , so I can be reborn
chain me to your labyrinth,
tie my noose when I hang too loose,
when I am compassless,
my heart
nowhere bound
let the flames engulf my mind,
I will watch the ring of fire with ease,
I will walk the road paved with blood,
for this transient
town hasn't seen my wild eyes on the map,
and this transient heart
hasn't seen your love in my dreams,
so destruct me fully,
so I can be reborn.

The path ahead
Samantha Cunha Nov 2018
Drifting into the dark abyss with weary thoughts and blocked visions

I dream of a past that ceases to exist, one without the wrenching heartache & disdain from impure energies crossing over an unwanted threshold

I never asked the demons to cross over to my side, yet our hidden fears can manifest into the open air

I take a deep breath as I dive head first into the cold, crisp water and swim into the unknown

The water is shockingly cold, and my mind is shockingly clear and filled with ease

What lies ahead isn’t nearly as frightening as that which I’m swimming far, far away from

you rose, elevating in the
dark woods, reading slowly,
words burning, rolling off your tongue,
majestic poetry & prose.

Fairy of the night, I sing, lyrical
& whimsical, you rose,
higher than heaven, poetry & prose.

I wasn't rooted, like the old wooden trees,
you told me when seasons shift, I turn into ice, and freeze
for I was never what you wanted me to be,
rooted, no, for I was free.

High by the shore, the tide is low
Daydreams of amphetamines

I fill the silver spoons, he licks my wounds
Motel six, sunday gloom
Cause clocks tick eerily slow
And when morning comes, I put on a show

Ode to Frost
Samantha Cunha May 2020
Robert Frost- you come to
me in a silly daydream, where the
reckless sun beats heavy on my feet.

You speak to me of the road less
travelled, and I can see it down
the winding path, where vines
may harm me along the way
Where danger may befall, and tear
my limbs- as I stand tall and carry on

Frost- you come to me in a long daydream
I see the path, I will seek it
no matter how long- no matter
how winded.

For I too, long to tell the tale
of the winded, rough, rarely trekked
road which made
all the difference.

Now i stand tall and alone

Alchemical Daydreams,
transmutation of impure energies
into sunshine, golden liquid
dripping from my veins, leaking
onto the page, like vermillion
drops of blood smearing into one another,
yearning to speak some universal truth
Time is an illusion, an illusion which
rocks my world sideways into the ocean
of vast nightmares, deja vu, and
harsh daydreams turned into sweet nothings
there's so much beauty all around,
sadness too, yet the downturned smile
still transmutes an energetic truth, I drink it all up
I soak it all in- like strawberry lemonade
sweet and sour cascading around my plush
lips, red like cherry pie
oh, these alchemical daydreams
in which I sway between earth and ethers,
the light and the dark
the shriveled cigarette is lit once more,
yearning to eradicate the natural state of what is,
just like I,
a wildfire
burning,
yearning,
yearning,
burning
for change
