Salman Rushdie was given a fatwa death threat
For writing The Satanic Verses

He says he does not believe in God
Or a heaven or hell after death.

He is literary, not religious.

But he also says
That when he writes
He has to use words like soul
And that there is something
Religion-like in the use of his imagination
To create believable fictional worlds.

And that he is struck
When in the UK
By the beauty of old cathedrals and churches.

He talks of future religion
As being in religion
But in a different way.

       My my, Xie xie
If it ain’t hurt it isn’t love.
Love is love because it hold hands with sadness.

When you love someone, parents, children your partner you will be sad on many occasions.
Illness, parting, pain, death.
I want to be your
favourite poem
like the one
That becomes
Eternal
In your memory
That you find
Yourself constantly
Day dreaming
On cloud nine for
Your greatest escape,
A clash between
Illusion and cravings
Drifting away
As thunder striking
Stars exploding
Earth shattering
As our world align
Mouth full of us
Dripping lips
like honey
on a biscuit
Intoxicating thoughts
Drunken eyes
A word at a time
Nothing else matters
Only you and me
like Bonnie and Clyde
Your forever lasting poem
Opened gate of
A yearning desire
In a forever fleeting world
When you love
when you leave

When you laugh
when you cry

When you grieve
when you die
Thoughts have a mind of their own
Effervescent their essence
Some like words
Some pretend
Some sail past
Few have to be executed
Some need action
Past their prime
Some evade words
Ever changing thoughts
Like waves and clouds
Make shapes
Soundless, ever present
