Winter minds
Sebastian Gray Dec 2017
There's a dark winter Forrest I bide my time in
I haven't left this Forest in years
Wolves trace the outskirts,
Whispering their lies through their teeth
"We care about you"
"We want what's best for you"

Amidst the sharpening of their fangs

The leaves have fallen
Leaving a cacoon for my retreat
The new found silence is comforting
But you can only hide for so long

        Soon comes the numbness
                     Then the pins and needles
The needles become blades
And the silence becomes deafening

Haha, I guess there's no winning after all

The only relief to the torment is sleep
But the thought of sleep has become a dream

Ironic

Increasingly frantic thoughts are hidden from the wolves
They'll use your weakness as a weapon
You can't let them win

With the choice being between wolves and the silence
The last great comfort radiates from the noose

At last, rest

Child's Heart
Sebastian Gray Dec 2017
Crimson red painting
And violet like the sky
Visions pass over the dead
With medicated eyes

The poison spreads through our hearts
Your bullets tear us all to parts
This cancer has killed everything
And without this life
What can tomorrow bring

The end is near
But the end is too far away
Maybe this world
Was just for our demons to play
May our hearts live through to the next

Born in Fire
Sebastian Gray Jan 2018
A single spark is beginning of an evolution
Transforming from an endless possibility into flame
Born through desire of indiscriminate love
I strike the match that ignites the future

I watch this grand illumination scorch the night sky
And I listen to the eerie dialect between the crackles,
screams, and the silence of the outside world
Inhalation of burning flesh and smoke
Fulfills the emptiness once inside me

Rotten hearts make for the best kindling
Tears no longer watering the soul
Both eyes a gateway to what was once beautiful
But now lie barren and desolate amongst the many
All it takes is a spark
