he read
somewhere
her name
means warrior

tough
indeed
fierce
in fact

five feet
"tall"
protesting
a picket line
because she hates the hate

they love so much
stronger than him
she never lets him feel that

she knows
he doubts himself
she tries to doubt
herself
but can't
really
she is too busy
trying to make the world

alright
he too is busy
making it all wrong
but she never loses

touch her
savant memory
hearing her living
in the echoes

her laughter
medicine
for the deepest
wound

she falls around sunset
to rest in
dreams
of the next battle

I hope to be half as wonderful
As you see me to be.

Not Today

I am at the point of a unavoidable breaking
This life that overcomes my will and all I'm undertaking
And to say I've found neither solace nor peace would be a correct assumption
But you do not see me past your judgements and presumptions

I am at the point where I feel my heart about to shatter
Turning into grains of sand mixed with dreams that no longer matter
Yet you desire to see the smile that's actually a frown turned upside down
Just so I'll say "welcome home" as I act as the matt that you stomp to the ground

I am at the point of screaming at the top of my mind
Seeing the things that the world's forced me to leave behind
See all the mistakes and heartbreaks that litter the floor like shards of glass
Cutting me and dragging my consciousness back to the past

I am a tattered soul who is choking back the tears
Just to say hello and make it seem I have no fears
Being crushed under the pressure of the smile plastered on my face
Seen as no commodity, but only something that can be replaced

I am a rebirth waiting to happen that your eyes dare overlook
The page written by the hand of God that's unread because mankind closed the book
A tried and failed prototype that is this world's very own casualty
And yet it should fear the future, for it shall no overcome me...

Not today...

Pearly Whites
I love with my hands

with a warm embrace,
a light pat on the back,
high fives, fist bumps
two thumbs up

A heart may not be for loving.

I love with my feet

when I wait in line,
while window-shopping,
running away with you,
walking down the aisle

A heart may not be for loving.

I love with my eyes

that still weep
long after you're gone,
that have baggage
big enough to carry yours

A heart may not be for loving.

I love with my lungs

you
             are
my
                 oxygen

A heart may not be for loving.

I love with my brain

the mind finds patterns, makes connections
you paint everything I see, hum every song I hear
you are every fragance, each succulent morsel
and in slumber, still I find you in my dreamscape

A heart may not be for loving.

A heart may not be for loving,
but without it I cannot think
I won't see what I touch
or where I'm going

And I won't remember to           breathe.
Set them free
And let them be
If it's meant to be
And you both feel it,
It'll be

i know now my day would not be complete without seeing your morning smile
that slight wrinkle in the corner of you eye, the raising of your cheek bones
the crinkle at the corner of your mouth, what man can resist the glow that surrounds you
the slight tilt of your head as you say hello, how are you, your hair dangling
care free off your shoulders your perfect teeth glistening in the light.
for that moment, i stand still, frozen, just taken your vision in my mind
and in a high pitch voice i say hello, i'm good.

"You came," her voice floated in the white
"Of course I came," I knew she was behind me
But I couldn't turn, only feel her hair touching my back
"It's a good sign." Her voice was a million echoing silver bells
"I guess I've started to realize..."
Her fingertips brushed my palm, light as wind.
"I have realized that it wasn't my fault"
"I told you it was a good sign"
In the corner of my eye, I saw strands of her hair, fluttering
"I miss you." I wanted see her, see her smile, white teeth and dimple
"I miss you too," her silver bell voice rung out sadly
"I can never forgive myself," my voice shook, my eyes burned
"Don't say that, it's not true"
Flowers underneath us were red, yellow and sky blue
"I should have been there, I should have always been with you"
My every atom ached for her, to turn and see her
I could remember the smell of waking up beside her
Starting my day with a wonder by my side
"Forgive yourself please, for me"
A flower was slipped into my hand, it was yellow
I turned and I saw her, she wore the garb of an angel
She smiled before she disappeared
Leaving me crying in the red, yellow and sky blue.

can I see your scars
he said to me
touching my shirt

my cheeks turned pink
I was dizzy
and embarrassed

his pale lips touched them gently
he smiled

as i whisper in your ear, and tell you what i fear
i feel you holding me tighter, to wipe away my tear
the warmth on my neck, from your soothing breath
sends my mind to a place, your softness i can't regret
for you are with me now and always, and beyond forever
a cherished time, a whimsical jouney, a daydream awaken
I LOVE YOU
