Come Back Home
Alexander Jun 2017
I wandered aimlessly across the creaking wood floors
Each made a sound I've heard before
Both of your heavy feet which stepped with grace
As your curly hair fell to your shoulders
And your smile awakened my soul

You disappeared into the night, to your parents house
They'd much rather send you aflight than to believe you'd been loused by me
You had to fix things and that's alright
No house is ever perfect inside nor out
You're strong, I know you can do it without a doubt

When you've done all that can be
Then come back to me
Come home, let me see you
Let us meet at 11's dew

Turn my body into a fiery furnace
Because lately, I've been very drab
And let me see those frizzy curls
That hide under your hijab

When you've done all that can be
Then come back to me
Come home, let me see you
I'll be waiting at 11's dew

Angry as ever, aggressive to the core,
What love has touched his heart, still it remained sore
The giant house with cinderella's steps
Touched the hearts and minds of guests
Underneath the wealth, a resentment crept

Teardrop water stained the concrete slabs that surrounded a steep skateboard ramp and was as full as a whale
The family stood eyes opened and faces white-dove-pale
At the sight of the once hardworking man
With train smoke erupting out of his ears, complaining and yodeling an aggressive song that only helped fill up the empty skate ramp

Although it was big, although it had needs and wants like a cat has whiskers
There was not enough of what the inhabitants needed
The house was large and it never won, it had no love to spread to all
