Maze

Ashly Kocher
You find yourself in a maze
No way out, your in a haze
Walking in circles, no end in sight
Silently screaming with all your might
Stop and wait close your eyes
Be still, follow the light
Even when you feel defeated
You will find the way to be completed
I don't really write,
I confess,
I don't know who you are, you don't know who I am,
Like two lonely strangers sharing a breath,
Eyes that stare, and look away,
There was a thoughtless second,
Of being together.

What happened before
What happens after
Who did the research
From where the data search
If i were a stock
Show my career graph
The highs and lows
And the grade point averages
Predict my percentile
I'm from the pile
Draw a report
Right from birth
Quarterly Analysis and beyond
Do i carry a face value too
Tell my parents who are eager
If i am a buy sell or hold
If I'm to be shorted on
Don't be afraid come on

The genius of Robin Williams,
the prescience of Harry Nilsson
The magic of Brian Wilson,
the artistry of Nina Simone
Celebrity robbed them of their greatest gift,
the most treasured one of all
To live at peace within themselves
—a normal life recalled

when the rain has fallen leaving rainbows in the sky
showing of its colors  shining way up high
like a great big bridge reaching side to side
like something from a fairy tale big and very wide

at the end of a rainbow a legend it is told
each and every rainbow has a *** of gold
if you can find its end.  there the gold will be.
gleaming in the sun there for you to see

your wishes and dreams are waiting there for you
if you find the gold your dreams will all come true
you must search and search along the rainbows bend
till you find it gold that is at its end

i have  a little cat a funny chap is he
always into mischief brings a smile to me
jumps upon the window sits there on the sill
tries to catch the flies but they wont keep still

likes to play with wool from my knitting draw
he pulls out a ball rolls round the floor
i sit there watch him as he begins to play
he makes me feel so happy brightens up my day

then when he gets tired has a sleep and then
wakes again once more of he goes again
when his day is over climbs it to his bed
dreams about his fun for the day ahead

Wind and light battled it out for supremacy deep inside the impassable jungle. At the echo of the ditched spirits, the stilted trees rocked. When two-legged creatures returned to the forbidden green stronghold, the tenants of wood fled.

Thank you, me, for breathing,
walking, thinking before speaking,
waiting, sword-sheathing, slow
and patient answer seeking.

I forgive you, me, for mistakes,
sloppy detailing, sometimes
derailing, losing sight, crimes
in fog and misty takes.

You tried and keep trying.
You'll fail and keep failing.
You learned and learned and
attempted to say no to what returned.

I respect your features and your bugs.
From now on, me, we'll celebrate with daily hugs.
Practice thanxiety
