Hail the King
Joy May 2017

kiss me to sleep
if only in memory
this said as if there is something more

bid me to dream
if only for tonight
restitch the unraveling of our kingdom romance

hug me again
if only for shelter
this vacant castle has never been home, alone

love me full
wake me by morning
I'd kneel rather than rebel for your throne

Rebellion (villanelle)
Joy Apr 2017

Life breathes in the living dead

Sanity is relative

Rebellion is ******

A cross, a spear,a thorn pierced head

sacrifice is imperative

Life breathes in the living dead

A failed mimic of the God I’ve read

Disease of first Adam destroys the comparative

Rebellion is ******

I am a  misfit born to drown in dread

The strain to exhale truth’s narrative

Life breathes in the living dead

A blackened follower bound in sin’s homestead

The weight of fault seals guilt declarative

Rebellion is ******

a gnawing beast of perfection fed

leaves my bones scattered in his graveyard: grace’s alternative

Life Breathes in the living dead

Rebellion is ******

Sun (entry poem)
Joy Apr 2017
Mirages caress the air in celebration of hope once lost
they will breathe now but wither at dusk
when the sun has lost its patience seeking a worthy companion
no one ever shines like him, he thinks
not in arrogance but longing
in an exhaustion of otherness
and he knows he has busy hands.
whorish and predictable
he will always leave eastern shores for western ones
gently touching bodies of water
or angrily scorching the audacity of land still being there without him
at times the earth trembles at his powers
breaks
protests
and the sand's shoulders go limp but rest assured
tomorrow
the sun will ****** those lands not in heat
and will still be lonely
will still not know the life he gives
or hope to barren lands and northerners
still not know that he's a part of everyone.
he IS the celebration
