Decision triggers fate
like a fuse ignites a bomb

Priming every choice we make
— until all karma’s gone

(Dreamsleep: June, 2024)
I dress modestly,
Carry a worn out handbag,
Wear worn stretchers,
Be humble and courteous,
And speak politely.
The doctor's clinic,
The lawyer's office,
The  principals office,
To minimise bills or donations.

Gallery after gallery
in the cool conditioned air
sketches and traces and objects of his art
capture the heart.
His songs played in low tune
fills the atmosphere with an unworldliness.
Here you are immune to the outside
where a hot sun scalds hungry dogs
a man carries ten times his weight
people haggle for little bargain.

The museum hides the pain
and the poet's dreamy world matters little.
But you forget and delve deeper.

The dog struggles to learn
the art of living
for a day.

End
The sky retreats,
Upon the drum sound,
Every heart utters its last beat.

As eyes grow dim,
Hazed in clouded lens,
Lies a wreath of grief.

A tender embrace,
Wrapped in a cool breeze,
The end nears complete.

All that’s loved,
Feared and hated,
Have come to cease.

The river meets the sea,
A journey of memory,
Of all that’s been and will come to be.
grass
holds the sand.
sand holds
the grass.
have you walked the dunes
hollowed path, coconut gorse.
have you found contentment there?
have you sat the sun, black crow bird,
have you closed your eyes at that
within, enjoyed that
without?
the tin hut is still empty.
