The still tree
James Aug 2016
If there is a still tree.  There must be no wind.  But wind will eventually come.  And when that moment happens, most people never notice.  Sometimes it's fast, almost simultaneous.  But other times, its slow.  And you see each branch slowly start to move like the others.  Until the whole tree is engulfed in wind.  Until the tree is no longer still.  Nor even itself.  For the tree is now the wind.  The branches move wherever the wind happens to go.  The tree loses itself.  But nevertheless, the wind will stop.  The tree will be still again.  And when that happens the tree becomes itself again.  Although it does have a few less leaves, and maybe even a few less branches.  The tree is itself again.  This moment, this transformation, however, is rarely ever noticed.

Live Life Any Way You Like
James Feb 2016
It doesn't matter if you laugh or if you cry
Me and you will both eventually die
So please live the way you want to
Because I know my life is about me, and not about you

Thank you for everything
James Feb 2016
Us kids need to thank our adults.
They've given us everything we have.
They've given us a body, and a voice along with it.
They've given us a home, and a bed to sleep in.
They've given us an education, and a degree to prove it.
Thank you for giving us everything.

But lets not forget the just as important things.
They've given us the war, and racism along with it.
They've given us gender roles, and the homophobia along with it.
They've given us gangs, and the violence that comes along with them.
They've given abuse, and the scars to prove it.
Thank you for everything you've given us.
But most of us wont listen, or care, we are changing this world.
But we couldn't have changed it without you,
So thank you for everything you've given us.
I am not trying to say that all adults are hurting my generation, my only purpose with this poem is to show that not everything in this world is designed for my generations success. My generation is taking the torch of many age old fights that my parents and parents-parents and their parents couldn't finish.  ):)

Rejoice
James Jan 2016
Everything we do,
Everything we say,
It affects us,
And whoever we're around every day.

But this does not mean for us to change,
It does mean we don't speak our voice,
This just means we know,
And with that we can rejoice.

Nothing
James Dec 2015
We start as nothing
We end as nothing
So does in between
Mean nothing
Take the nothing we're all given and do something amazingly awesomely spectacular

365 Days
James Dec 2015
There are 365 Days in a year
Or 8,765 Hours in a year
Or 526,000 Minutes in a year
Or 31.6 Million Seconds in a year
And Us in the idea of Time
Really and Actually
Meant nothing.
Sometimes we forget, that life is full of everything, good and bad.  But life has a way of filtering it all. It may not happen for you right now, but the longer you go on and the longer you hold the more your able to withstand.  Your beautiful, so let them see it.

You are to Me
As Water is to Fire
You are to Me
As Fire is to Paper
In the end, I am always ash
But at least I can blow away

I am a Kid
James Nov 2015
I am a Kid.
You hated gays, We would never forbid.
I am a Kid.
In school you learned to read, I learned how to work a power grid.
I am a Kid.
We will have to undo, what you did.
I am a Kid.
This isn't targeted to every adult, this is targeted to the people who think that my generation and the generation before me will ruin the earth.

Two Dead Boys
James Oct 2015
One bright day in the middle of the night,
Two dead boys got up to fight.
Back to back they faced each other,
drew their swords and shot each other.
A deaf policeman heard the noise
and ran to save the two dead boys.
And if you don't believe it's true,
go ask the blind man, he saw it too.
This is a classic poem, that I love, and was always told when I was younger.

Why don't you ...
James Oct 2015
Why do you say I cant fly.
Why do you say I should die.
Why do you make me cry.
Why don't you go look in a mirror, and stop living a lie.
People cant decide what we are, but they can decide what they think they are.

You don't like me...
James Oct 2015
You don't like me, okay.
Just do me a favor and stay out of my way.
You tell me to pack up an run for the south.
Just do me a favor and keep my name out of your mouth.
Not everyone will like you, not everyone will keep your trust, but its okay.  Because while their driving off a cliff we'll just step out of the way.

You don't know me.
James Oct 2015
You don't know what I can be.
You don't know if or when I'll flee.
You don't know if or when I'll obtain a degree.
You don't know if I do or don't agree.
So shut up, and stop saying you know about me.
Only we know ourselves and thats the awesome part about life.

Powder
James Oct 2015
He said the powder would be better than the leaf,
But how could I go against my morale belief.
I watched my friends drown,
Yet they think I'm the clown.
He offered again,
I had to pray, Amen.
All my friends are awake,
They all left me by the lake.
He said are you sure,
I asked him if there was a cure.
They are all happy and alive,
Im over here sad and deprived.
He told me this was my last chance,
I took the powder and made myself apart of the never ending dance.

Penny
James Sep 2015
I threw a penny
It changed a life
He walked by
Picked it up and said goodbye
I never saw him
I don't know his name
But I threw a penny
And it changed his life.

What Do I Do ?
James Sep 2015
You tell me to have a little fun,
My parents tell me to run.
What do I do,
Where would I run to.
I just want to fall asleep,
I really don't care if I'm a sheep.
Just make the pain go away,
Make me forget about every day.

Goodbye
James Sep 2015
You ruined my life,
So now I say goodbye.
You made my life miserable,
You made me want to die.

They called you my Dad,
They said I had just one.
You made my life miserable,
You were everything but fun.

For one last time my 'Dad',
I say goodbye.
Go ahead and leave us again,
Finally say goodbye.

He and She
James Sep 2015
She called me fat and dumb,
He said I was nothing but ****.
He threw me inside of the locker,
She said my virginity wasn't a shocker.
She made fun of me being homeless,
He said 'Wow your Moms useless'.
My friends are all gone,
I don't no if I can go on.
They came to see me dead,
The two who can still go ahead.
I hope they see this could've been stopped,
I hope they see if they would've swapped,
They would be lying here, dead and still.
But they don't care they left feeling not at all ill.

The Pill
James Sep 2015
He offered me a pill, I said no.
But now I am the joke of the show.
I dont care what you do.
But I wont do it with you.
They still laughed, why I am made fun of.
I just was trying to keep my natural love.
Their all doing it now, no one has a frown.
Should I tell should or should I keep it down
He offered me a pill, I said please.
He gave it to me and my whole life began to freeze.

So Great ...
James Sep 2015
You gave me happiness, you gave me a life,
But you ruined me, you killed me at the same time.
How can you stand there all tall full with pride,
When you burn kids with one swift stride.
We cannot stop, we can not cry,
For if the parents find out, we will die.
So what do I do now that I am alone,
No one is here, and I am all skin and bone.
My mom threatened to throw me out,
My dad smacked me and began to shout.
Look what you've done, you've ruined my life,
But you make it so great, and so worth living at the same time.

Life
James Aug 2015
We live
So we can die
And we say hello
So we can say Goodbye

We go run
To only then run back
We try so hard
To only then just slack

We give it are all
To only then fail
We try to be alive
To only then be thrown in jail

We live
So we can die
We smile and laugh
So we can cry

Sick and Twisted
James Aug 2015
I am sitting sad and alone
Nothing to touch
No one to phone

I used to have fun
My life was like a dream
But now it is done
And there is no one to be seen

And people ask as everyday goes by
How do you live?
I tell them I survive

Life isn't good
It isn't fair
It isn't kind
So don't be fooled by those of a twisted mind

So be warned one last time life is dangerous
It is cruel
And when your sick and alone
It will beat you like an old mule

Eventually you'll be like me sad and alone
No one to touch and
No one to phone

So tell me did I get in your head
For people like me haunt you at bed
I am not kind
I am cruel with a sick and twisted mind

Don't ever trust those with a mind
For those are the ones who seem gentle
Who seem kind

But when you turn your back
You will truly see
People like us
People like me

No one will see us
For we are like dust
And we seem like we care
But we just want you to rust

For now I am done and I will see you soon
You are like the sun
And I the moon

For I am sad and alone
No one to touch
No one to phone

— The End —
