The visible could be deceitful
When you shine your inner light
That which appears like a burden
Would suddenly becomes light

When I am around people
My heart and soul radiate with
the awareness that
I'm in the presence of greatness.

Maybe greatness unfound or
greatness underdeveloped
But the potential or existence
of greatness nevertheless

You never know who will go on to do good
Or even great things
Or become the next great influencer
So treat everyone like they are that person.

Living in a world full of standards
Here is what you should be
Here is what you can't be
I don't play by none of those rules

My real yardstick is the person I was created to be
So even if I live like you better than you
Still, I'll be a failure to the person I was meant to be

I don't want to reach the end of the road
To regret it all because I lived another's life
So, my success has nothing to do with your standards
Success is being me with no compromise.
Success is to genuinely live as me till the end.

Swimming can be quite relaxing
But not when you're drowning
It's easier to be seen on the water, floating
But it's harder when you're in the water, struggling!

I love deciduous trees
I think they are smart
This is what they do

During harsh seasons (tough times)
They shed their leaves
To conserve their resources
That they might survive

When everything seems right
They grow the leaves again
A smart move by trees
To focus on what's most important
Without considering what humans think.

Sitting right here
With the doors locked against negative feelings
I have a lot on my mind that I could share
Some thoughts poking my eyes
And wanting to bring me to tears

But, I just want to sit and stare
Stare at the colorful butterflies
As they land on the beautiful flowers
Stare at the birds gliding through the air

Watch the clouds move across the sky
Look at the trees waving their hands
I'm admiring the beauty of Mother Nature
And how well her kids, she nurtured

I can feel the smile birthed on my face
Worries gone without leaving a trace
I am just so amazed
At the therapeutic nature of Mother Nature!

Greediness is evil
The uncontrolled love of money is its roots
Regrets and shame are the fruits

At first, it appears to soothe
Sitting on that which belongs to many
But the end of it is pain.

Words uplift, words bring down
Words heal, words injures
Words express love, words show hatred
Words give life, words cause death
Words bring together, words seperates
Words make peace, words start fights
Words bless, words curse
Words make, words break
Words are dynamic and potent
Words are easily spoken and long-lasting
Choose and use them, carefully and wisely.

Greatness is born
At the birth of a new child
Domiciling on his/her inside
Waiting to be revealed to the world outside

As a light bursting out of darkness
Solution to the cries of many

Like Rome, greatness wouldn't appear in a day
Brick by brick, it must be laid
Hardwork, discipline, commitment, faith
Originality, perseverance, sacrifices

Each time I scroll through your pictures
saved on my phone
The love button in my heart gets clicked
You're the only channel I'll ever subscribe to

Love yourself first

His light is shed abroad in our hearts

if I don't give God the praise

How could a castaway stone
become the cornerstone
What many deemed impossible,
In my own case, more often than not,
they became feasible

But above the big accomplishments of life
I cherish the simple everyday blessings

Like the air that I breathe
The warmth of the sun as felt on my skin
The comfort of my bed when I lay on it

I'm grateful for every single hand that
I've lifted up
A blessing is now,
being in the midst of beautiful people

What is fame and wealth in the
absence of a sound health
What are accolades and awards without genuine friends and family to rejoice with

Milestones are friends turned family
Milestones are daily recorded
when life is lived with simplicity.

Daily monitoring our everyday life
Learning every of our moves
My genre of songs and movies
The time I go to sleep
The calls I make and the ones I receive
It sure knows my favorite meals
The places that I visit
The websites that I surf
How can you escape from this stuff
It has no eyes
but it sees more than you think
It listens when you're not even talking to it
Purchased with my money
I honestly think it's helping me
Whereas it's constantly
feeding my information to its bosses
Here I am unaware of their intentions.

It hurts my heart whenever I remember
that a black man killed Nipsey
Or that a black woman threw Meek Mill
in prison for popping a wheelie

Sometimes, that sh*t gets me paranoid
esp. when dealing with people of my color
You relate with them with a clean heart,
Show them love & treat them like family

Only for them to act back with bitterness and jealousy
Some will even try to stick a knife in your back
& when you keep a distance, they call it pride

It's my duty to protect my peace of mind
So I keep only the loyal ones by my side
Because we look alike doesn't mean we
think alike. Small circle, less trouble. My motto.

I asked him this honest question
Please, why are you so quick to judge?
And to my surprise,
He gave me an honest answer...

Because it makes him feel better at himself
It's a way to console his broken self
It helps him counter the demons in his head

To all of these, I replied/enquired...
Have you considered using love?
It was a cooing dove
that broke the silence!

Forgiveness initiates the healing process
Especially and importantly for the forgiver
Even though forgiveness might not take the pain away immediately,
Remaining in that state of forgiveness would speed up the healing faster than any drug/medicine

Free the punisher, forgive the abuser
Don't lay the blame on yourself either
The pains/regrets would try to resurface
They could even bring tears to your face
But strive to not walk out of forgiveness
Even if you can, say a word of prayer for you and the person(s) in question
That's how you hold on to your peace & freedom.
