Standing amidst
bullets blazing.

They never quite
see just how much
their words affect me

Strange,

how I crave love
and deny it too.

Why the flowers
start to wilt the moment
they start to bloom.

How the warmth
of a fire in winter and the pain
of getting burned remind
me of you.

Love falls like snow.
It's beautiful but it's cold.

attention after all,

                          It just glows.

You play hard
to get, and I...don't play fetch.

..but life happens, and

Later we learn,

         that bottles break; and
         those pieces can
