I can't stop it!
KP Dutta Jun 2018
With every blink, I shed 'sorrowful-water' from my visionary eyes,
Every moment, it drips off my cheeks and reaches my neck.
I am so disturbed by the wordly ties;
The very ties that bound me to this world.

Now, I am tired following the rules of the books
Which have clipped my wings!
It bounds me to swim in the sea of depression;
And prevent me from flying in the sky of heavenly peace.

I long to spread my wings
And soar high above the sky,
Like the peaceful dove.
But I am prevented from doing what I love!

So, I shed tears with every blink
And long to break the chains that clink.
It's a light-hearted poem written by me with heavy heart, heavy in the sense I feel like I am pulled down, down to the deep sea of depression!!

A piece of fragile glass,
Coated at the back with a compound of Chemistry.
Borns a mirror without a mess;
Beautifully decorated like a tapestry!

Round and square, big and small,
Carved with precision or life added with colours mix.
Cheap or with prices tower tall;
Shiny items keep customers in a fix!

Rome wasn't bulit in a day,
So were these wonderful things.
Creator's a Roman, the books say;
Creator's an amazing mind, in my mind it rings!

A pool of still water, then the fire,
Then came metals with some lustre;
Smooth glasses back-coated with metals was in fashion then, Sire.
Winner of the feat was none but silver with a remarkable posture!
A poem narrating the story of the origin of mirrors by Mirror (from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs) itself or rather himself!

Ordinary Beauty
KP Dutta Jun 2018
There they were, the suprisingly shiny brown glasses.
Small and cute, they accurately represented their master!
I gaze at them as the time passes...
Had there been a "specs-election", I would've been their first vote-caster!!

Zebra stripes but brown and white were they coloured
Smooth and silky was their texture
On the surroundings, my vision was blurred
On the clear shades of the glasses was it only concerned.

I kept admiring their beauty from my heart;
With their unseen ears, my inaudible voice could be heard.
They seemed to look lovingly at me
And I was assured "Still there's water in the kind sea".
The poem was written taking inspiration from a pair of glasses (which belonged to one of my friends) kept on our desk at our college. They were too ordinary to be even seen but I found it too beautiful to stop myself from writing this poem.
