milo-clover
Born in Indiana to post-graduate educated parents, raised in a central Illinois college town, and working as a carpet cleaner and actor in Chicago, Clover draws inspiration from the rural Midwestern blue-collar ethos, the artistic idealism of Chicago's north side, and everything in between. He's resourceful, utilizing playfully melodic abstraction, character driven folk-talk, and at times an almost mathematic literalness that more closely resembles the cooking instruction on a box of mac'n'cheese than modern free verse. The explorations of his hyper-diverse subjects, even when lexically cryptic, always feel accessible by virtue of the fact that Milo Clover is, first and foremost, an entertainer. / / / Cover Art: / Kathleen Eaton's "Cul-de-sac" sans color / / All poems original Copyright of Milo Clover
