Like two cars on the highway going in different directions.
You were building your life, and I was still searching for the meaning of mine.
Although we could only meet for a second or two,
It sure had felt like the life I had wished to spend with you.
In those few seconds, our eyes met almost instantly.
I could picture warm summer nights on the lake
and cool autumn evenings with a fire.
All I had needed at that moment was you
And just like that, you were gone as quick as you had come.
I had accepted that I would never get to experience those nights with you
And continued on my way.
always wear your seatbelt

Won’t you look at the mess you made?
The lights go out,
I come apart.
The sun rises,
And so do I.
But in the night,
When I’m alone,
Your shadow stands over me
And offers a sad smile
A plastic sorry
...
And I forgive you.
Every
Single
Time.
