 Apr 2021 Sweet Rain
Leone Lamp
I invited the band, to make strawberry jam
On top of Strawberry Rock
They asked me "What time?"
I said "Be there by nine."
They arrived promptly at one o'clock
But once they began, the sea kissed the sand
And the music never stopped.
~2012/2013
You speak and I hear
A voice like music spoke
If morning is beginning
I loved you ere I woke

You speak and I hear
A song in perfect tune
If mid-day is our time together
I'll treasure afternoon

You speak and I hear
A laugh so sweet and true
If evening is eternal
I'll spend the night with you
Spare me a dream faery man
Spare me a dream faery woman
Bake me a ginger bread cottage
Weave wishes to bind with the dough
With icing as white as the snow

Cut me a thread faery man
Sew me a seam faery woman
Bind with the blossom in May
Pink as the rose, soft as the lamb
To wind round the bed where I lay

Write me a poem faery man
Faery woman sing me your love
Casting your light, by the waxing of moon
Set words to music and play me a tune
To brighten my heart all the day

So spare me a dream faery man
Spare me a dream faery woman
Bake me a ginger bread cottage
Weave wishes to bind with the dough
With icing as white as the snow

S
Sweet dreams until we meet again.

Sweet dreams while your heart slumbers.

Sweet dreams from this cold world we fend,
Sweet dreams, sweet dreams again.

A lullaby, A broken dream.
A memory not remembered.

Do no be afraid of end,

Sweet dreams, sweet dreams again.

No tears shed, No light granted

Just peaceful, silent bliss,

No wars fought, no blood bled,

Sweet dreams, sweet dreams again.

A broken heart can mend itself,

If not completely whole,

A broken smile can still shine full,

Sweet dreams, sweet dreams again.

A pain so deep, one can’t confess,

A daring tongue in cheek,

A gaze so strong, that can transfix,
.
Sweet dreams, sweet dreams again.

You’ll be held near, so close your eyes,

Let everything unfold,

Throw out your harm, let it all die.

Be sweet. Sweet dreams to you.

Mr Shankley
I kissed a girl with a broken smile;
nothing could come near.
She carved it with a pocket knife;
slit from ear to ear.
And she wears it like her favourite scarf;
it keeps her from the cold.
So I told her its only woven by
her enemies of old.
breathing the turquoise like lavender,
and sipping the blue summer.
bitter cold clouds glide and morph lava lather,
floating whispers cut by sweet pineapple sunshine.

soon, a moment, now
rhythms ripple the sky like skipping stones
we jump the music like puddles
splashing in the frequencies.

cobalt bass rumbles the earth hungry,
pumps the air with springing spirals
pushing and pulling the senses,
reverberating through cells.

heavy mud humming, stomping
echoes through our atoms dizzy;
balancing tuned body to innate electricity
the fizz of circulating lemonade energy.

we jump the music like puddles
splashing in the frequencies.

strawberry melodies spilling ribbons,
dolphin leaps of the spaces inbetween beats,
lines of colours overlapping,
colliding, mixing, merging, blending
in with the forest.

washing over souls the life fire sparkles
like a clear water cleansing harmonies,
sound waves crashing against inertia.
phosphorescent glow of re-charged love
for the world, for being, animation

flowing through burnt smoky ashes
of sapphire charcoal skies;
dimmed radiation of chlorophyll emerald days.
the smell of salt, dry bark, fluffy carbon mists,
trembling lights softening the eyes'
grip on outlines, loosening lies.

watching the cycles of patterns
tumbling colours through a mill rotating,
and the silence of listening
when the music comes to an end.
Something I've been working on for a long time on and off since 2015.
