White and
More white.
Rooftops disappear into the sky;
White upon white.
Looking around at everything
Being erased.
It is as if nature has lost its taste.

The squirrels and crows dance
As spring’s arrival casts away the snow.
I could waltz by any tree
And never know that a faint song
Sets my bird free.
