Rising from the ashes with a cigarette in my grasp
Stripped bare for all to see
A birthmark on my ****
Simmering in the embers of a relationship too burnt to reignite
A scar of the 3rd degree
A tear falling every night
I am to recover and be better off than you'll ever know
Despite the beauty of rebirth
We all rise from ashes
And it hurts more than we bear to show
