Seazy Inkwell
In her dream,
She was drinking latte in an unknown country,
when the man approached her,

my wife hates you, he said,
you have to pay extra for the coffee.
She had to go,
for fear of the jealousy in his wife's eyes,
because of everything she had.

She has always been privileged,
The princess of a rich kingdom.
The precious one in the family.

Occasionally she heard bad news,
about women in other countries,
but surely, she thought,
they were too violent to be true.

Then she's walking down the street,
newly paved, the king's pride
a group of girls and middle-aged men
gathered in the town square.

A girl's arm reached out from the car window,
She took it, their fingers briefly unite,
before the girl's head was split by a knife.

The streets were saturated with red things,
The girls were murdered one by one,
while she watched, helpless.

Then she felt a hand tightening behind
the back of her head,
In her dream, she became one of the girls,
She's no different from them.

Always at that point, she woke up.
What's wrong, he asked, you were paralyzed with fear.
I had the most lucid and helpless dream, she'd reply.

But surely it must be a dream,
It's too violent to be true
or is it she's sleeping now,
oblivious to anything?

Medusa
all is warm and one
you are here in my mynde,
where I keep the holy relics
all along the martyrs' trail

****** footprints less than
walking on your spirit hands
so skip, dance, you martyrs

you signed on for this: mysterium mysteria majestic
now you are here, there is no turning back,
you ate the knossos bread, you drank the wine
you are tainted by ancient perfection

You are one with the Golden Age
You can no longer be less than you are

welcome, welcome, rose petals at your feet
next harvest, perhaps you will be our sacrifice

but for now, live in thys moment
become what you know you might be

so many to cheer your life as it drains away in dust
revered, beloved, nothing less than a God
you are to me, save the crops for another year
become the bread between our teeth

grind me like corn beneath your hips tonight
that moon demands a sacrifice, but first
you are the golden god of our dreams
we need you, trust your blood

singing like erinyes at your heels
singing helah helah helah
as you walk the white dust of the path
The path that only Iphegenia knows

we love you
we love you
selah, love, selah

we would die for you
will you die for us?

Senor Negativo
Blue skies, timeless
hover past my skin
indifferent as a grader bypassing
that watery definite sky of yours

Here were a few laws of space
hate music this cannot block
escaping the ear of an Illuminati can
leaving temporarily, and fading
unlike static earth plummeting near

Now isn't she gone in the wilderness
I can sit against death
not so blessed cat-wired, nothing
then, and was, given
to a few destinations

You have lifted your hand up
out of  that den of garters
from fixed seeds either not to be kissed,
that isn't complex when you rejected
to be caressed to death.
Rusty, but not completely Cuyler.

Lora Lee
moving past the foliage
I smack back
the tangled brush
a strange truth revealed
my emotions in a rush
Here I am
in this hell-hatched bind
braced against the winds
grasping at shards
           of the Divine
for they're inside me,
all those pieces
jagged glass and soft meringue
my innards humming
shades of the blues
in offbeat notes of pain
and I know that deep within
between my earthly
beats of heart
resides a light that's
only mine
that slices through
this drape of dark

It's a heavy nightcloak breaking
as I reach out from
                     the abyss
praying for the comfort
of my soul's
bright morning
                kiss

Early morning,
Jupiter and Venus
meet face to face,
frozen, a second before
collision. The sky glows
a burnt orange, an echo
of the collision that
could have been.

Closer than the
band of my ring,
lustrous like the
diamond on it, still,
they long to close the
365 million miles.

Jupiter and Venus
lay next to each other
on a Queen. Jupiter
slumbers, rumbles
quietly next to Venus
while she counts the
fluttering eyelashes.

Early morning,
Venus and Jupiter
are 17 arc minutes away,
seems like an arm’s reach,
but he is so far. Lost
in a dream, frantically
fastened to her waist,
she counts his heartbeats.

Floating beneath sown lights,
between the sounds of
the sleeping city and
the hum of the heater.
She gazes upwards,
finding faux constellations.

Venus wakes Jupiter
pressing her lips to
the soft skin of his face,
dawn light pours red
through the blinds
as Jupiter and Venus collide,
for what feels like the first time
all over again.

Listening to the sea,
that dark looking glass
like the watchboy they ask
about the night, my brother,
the black mirror you see,
I know almost nothing about,
I heard a dirge of burning longboats
like the songs the dead sing
to put me to sleep, my death,
if I could tell you about it,
my Captain, I would but I slept
right through it, not dreaming.

Petal pie
The mirror was tarnished,
It gave her a sepia glow

The reflection varnished,
Memories garnished by sorrow

And with a silver brush
She smoothed away the greying years

Finely powdered gold dust
To cover trace of wear and tears

The mirror was tarnished,
And now brightly shines her beauty.

Cold Mountain's calling
Winter days die young
Cold rain is falling
Black cloak has been flung

Carve my face
upon Cold Mountain's ice.
Chisel a trace
of a smile around my eyes.
Cut hard lines
deeply soft beside my mouth.
Send my heart
on a slow boat headed south.

Cold Mountain beckons
I'll be there too soon
Cold river reckons
Cold rain hides the moon

Sometimes I tire
Of the gravity of life
And wish to ride with Gypsies
Dance with tambourine
And raven haired beauty
With sultry smile
And plunging neckline
A peasant dress
And raging fire...
One
      can
           dream.....

I squint  just right
And capture a memory almost forgotten
Jars of fruit and honey fresh from hives
Filling shelves in old smokehouse
Home-made butter and molasses
In her kitchen
Waiting to smother
Biscuits warming
On black cast iron wood-stove
Boxes of buttons
An old cameo
Split wood in corner
Old sleepy dog on porch
The house on the hill
Where Mom's Granny rocked

Night listens to my dreams
And tells me what they mean
I dreamt the moon was blue
A wan and pallid hue
I'm told because of you

Dreams of sky in motion
Mirrored on the ocean
The dream it couldn't stay
The tide washed clouds away
I'm told pain comes in waves

I dreamt you turned to ice
The stars froze in your eyes
The shadow of the moon
Took you away too soon
I'm told love led to ruin
