The way you look in the mirror
the nonchalant way you flip your hair
the head cocked and that little shoulder shrug
as if to say, I'll take it, and your content, to leave it
some things just never change,
that beauty mark only I see
the scars light can't observe
but I know where they hide
the twinkle of an emerald eye
as it shoots up to catch me just right
it winks at me and lets me know it's all ok
I forgive you, let's move on

tempted in diving down deep
bearing all open

tumbleweed dancing
dos e dos down main street dirt
wild west saloon shots
wasted, ghostly piano tunes
echo in some boxed canyon

Gin blossoms headache
Burst capillaries inside
Rooting deep,  to guarantee
Good time gin tonic parties
Having to wait another night

believe nothing told
lies as truths easily sold

Glaciers glare melts darkened snow
as the sun dries the remnant pools
leaving dust to the wind
ymmiJ Apr 2019
milky silt rivers
gashing pastel covered fields
tears from slipping slopes
glaciers coursed going southward
now heading back north

Stormy winter peaks, denali shows
from safety here, the valley below
shivering, thinking, deep spring snow
ymmiJ May 2019
saw you this morning
glancing bright vanity light
you, laughing, crying,
smiling, eyes dancing across
featureless mercury face

Sitting down, feet up
Fire dancing , early night chill
Peace as embers glow

their foundation gone
extreme neglect eroded
collapsing inward

Then the mighty winds blew
Bringing moisture to wash it all away

My deepest dark fear

did the bottom
just dropout
or did slow erosion
burst the ******* dam
mindless mouth breathers
will think the prior
history will show
complacency killed
the dream
as Rome burned
fiddles did play

All my good memories
I lock in a box, three locks , of course
On special days, I unlock it, to ensure
They all really happened
ymmiJ May 2019
morning breaks on through
legs rub, blood fills beating hearts
eyes still closed, we embrace
ymmiJ Sep 2022
that was a long time ago
back in the good old days
before we had slipped so
before the rot and decay
life before the undertow
swept humanity away

now adrift alone
seeking answers long untold
we slowly sink below

faint hints in the air, sweet smells
summer sounds echoed
back from the past, hinting at
lasting memories ahead

heard that so softly
worded, silently whispered
obeyed the warning
above screaming agony
forgive yourself to break free

The keys to seeing my heart
Penetrating probing green keys

Green light romance
Flirting seductively sultry thru the night
Enchanted I reach for you
Yep another northern lights poem. Hey, my wife thinks it's a green light from god himself to be a lil red devil, haha
ymmiJ Apr 2019
Green light is going
She left the shade up, light on
Sunshine pouring forth
ymmiJ Nov 2020
between bated breaths
calming moments in chaos
in soothing green eyes

diving never ending depths

Oh, it's not a prison
not in that sense of the word

It traps you just the same
but with a worse kind of hurt

Yes, the bars are there
harder and colder than any steel

They keep you closed in
robbing you of any appeal, hope or zeal

From earth to sky no light can come in
I told you a different kind of prison

The guards you ask?
Why of course they are on duty

Ensuring you stay strapped
watching like your some kind of *****

Always staring down
with their dark hollow faces

Make **** well and sure
you stay in their filthy places

I wonder on their masters
those curious heathenish *******

Swollen gluttonous wrong
they ensure the poison venomous and strong

Always sipping champagne
from the people's stolen glasses

It's every man for himself
for these  soulless *****

They lock the doors and try to
seal out that blasted light!

Then feed you their poison
for their sick twisted delight

They almost won
but in a fool's haste

They forget the backdoor
The one leading to saving grace
** Hum, another one about the prsion of the mind and who loves to manipulate the weak ones the most.

little gypsy rose
do you still recall the way
patiently await
been too long since I’ve hugged you
hoping your smile still shines through

my vagabond child
I miss those loving hugs
recalling their warmth
take is easy watch your step
make that turn head north to home

Is a haiku that has been haiku'd
a haiku times two

All these rules about how many to use
and how you do it too

Don't mean to be rude or crude
I get it, I really do, it's sacred art for me to

I just write what I see feel and do
no rules just me you and a haiku or two

If your choice is nothing
Mine is to let you have all you want
If you choose to have something anything
I  will choose to extend my hand in love
A hand up, if you will

that miraculous first gaze
time flies but butterflies soar
My youngest is Fifteen. From .5% (that’s correct, one half of one percent)chance to even be here. To. thriving young lady. Time flies but she soars. For TS awareness and butterflies everywhere

All those silly young dad fears
Bouncing boy came in swingin’, us cheerin’
My life brighter for all these years
first day of work, boy to man
Excuse my tears
