minds' eye
open wide
illusion dies
ymmiJ Mar 2019
Today is not the day to see what I've seen
Not with the sun shining and everything
From the horrors of paschendale
To that cross on a faraway hill
Humanity has left quite the legacy
From blood stained Hamburger Hill to
Mastering the art of wholesale butchery
I Never wanted to claim my ancestors yokes
The things I've seen are the devils jokes
Pitting man against man and brother against brother
Our sisters and mothers weep to each other
Oh, the things humanity makes me see
Wish I could swipe right and wipe clean
These wicked scenes of humanity

yikes venezuela
double yikes for red china
lost their human's rights

corrupt governments
pillaging their own people
with just signs to fight

they let it happen
trusting in greedy humans
no one else to blame

lessons never learned
our founding fathers teachings
history repeats

Would you do it again
Like roller coaster rides that eventually end
Keeping that same familiar grin

snow quickly follows
6 weeks till winter when the fireweed blooms to the top.

without anything to do
winter barely came
Mildest winter and least snowfall in Alaska in a long time.
