restless leaves rustled
unsettled winds swirling in
grey light, gloomy rain
perfect popcorn movie day
inside sunburn therapy

I fold into you
like rose water love letters
sealed envelope tight,
ever protecting arms keep
my frayed edges from wearing

Bundled up on the Aluetian coast
On some brisk breezy Bering Sea roost
I turn my glass to a young feathered crew
A King Eider mother counting her brood
She counted once then twice
Found her missing wobbler
Fighting under floating ice
Picked pecked and prodded
The little prince finally herded
and nested warm and nice

Birches still slumber
gentle breezes brush spring leaves
bears begin stretching
strolling quiet dawn marshes
birds chirp their lumbered approach

Spring snow fell today
Fresh signs betraying stealth steps
In devils thicket
Hiding springs youthful bounty
Of life's treacherous starting

lose time
find yourself
waiting

silver gold water
bullets peas penicillin
basic necessities
when the world stops spinning
don't be left empty handed

you make my heart ache
sweetest, deepest, truest pain
loving you just hurts

seldom heard noises
mountain rumbles, ears alert
alaska thunder
echoes down ancient glaciers
huskies tremble under chairs

Crisp clear predawn sky
Ample hues of dull moon rays
Enjoying love under lunar light

Everywhere I look I see words
rhyming words tied by themes
running in and out of my head
like a faucet with no off or way
to tuning them out
So I write and write and write
with no  thoughts consequence or doubt
People look strangely at me
when I talk in rhythmic rhyming ways
my kids are amazed to this day
some say it weird or some kind of
crazy *** savant who can't speak properly
Well here is the news or
as they use to say
the straight dope
so tuck this away
The words we poets right
are not just words for play
they are all human feeling emotions
and critical mind states just said
and put out in an easy familiar way
for those less fortunate who can't
read think and write this way.
So here is a start
Green Eggs and Ham
You see?
Even a child still growing his heart
can understand thoughts put this way

Look at this cat he has all the letters.
Parades them around like some kind of peacock feathers.

The letters say he has earned the right.
To tell you what's a worthy plight.
To eat, sleep, and love this way.
Dont' do  as I do, just do as I say!
The letters say he can speak that way.

Big or small he knows them all.
Life, numbers, why does an apple fall
Ask him and he will say, "yes, I know that too".
Heck, I bet he can describe the color blue
to a blind man to boot!

"You shouldn't do this and definitely not that.
You should use maple for your baseball bat.
I should know I played minor league ball.
Well, before I got these letters and all."

He will tell you how hard he worked
and how much he has learned.
Swearing he knows best
and stealing everyone's turn.

After the blubbering, blabbering,
pomp and circumstance.
I came away saying
" am not sure this guy has a chance?"

It's not the letters you have but the words you say
To not have all the answers is OK
It's always pride before the fall.

of them all.

poor old papillon
forever stuck devil's isle
swimming with hungry sharks

windjammer meeting
front beach, wild night, love affair
we are still sailing
on wind from that magic night
to our forever sunrise

heard a bird whistle
for the first time this spring
I felt warm inside

falling down backwards
into some deep well wishing
I had turned around

western desert dream
cicadas sing from parched trees
under cool nightshade

I've been old before
always stayed pass closing time
not new getting old

Floating, arms bloated
bobbing, mindless thoughts adrift
Scraping bottom earth
anchored here, your coral sea
surrounds my island fortress

I am so entertained by all this hurt
and pain slicing my heart just the same
as an arrow shot with perfect aim

rewind yesterday
play back over and over
like catchy love songs

dancing, Shakedown Street
reminds me where my heart lied
and left me for dead

your love never leaves
even in the darkest times
your sun soon follows
reminding this simple soul
your never to far away

nervous habits
betray
doomed prey

Dollars of white decay
Cherished Hunted Collected
stacked miles high, stashed away

blue eyed ginger snap
sixties kid in modern day
scarlet begonia

Really guy? Everyday the same old same
You open my gate and I enter head in shame

What'll it be today?  left right then left again
How long should it take, it really is insane

You always hoping " I got him this round"
But I am what I am and set my nose to ground

A look in your eyes you think I aim to please
Let me put on another show
How hard you hid the cheese

mantis stalking prey
stoic, silent assassin
praying his aim true

alpine glowing pink
cotton candy covered hills
winter sweetened land

Are the eyes I see
The keys to seeing my heart
Penetrating probing green keys

worldly affliction
blackened veils hide lying eyes
diseased by deceit

smiles to frowns
watching crazy clowns
burn it down

muttered magic words
panting, heavy breathing in
to say, I love you

Man poisons religion, deceivers
so flawed but powerful, hoarders
of your own believers, you're the fraud
Don't trust in poisoned man, their all flawed
