you dazzled me with your antics
then mesmerized me with your acraobatics
till i crumbled before an expert onslaught
led from the front  by the mood swings
embedded in your hurtful shifting values
You boarded that train
Bound for nowhere
That day at the station
You were looking kind of frail
I warned you that this would happen
When you burned all your bridges
Now you hang your head with shame
The price of the ticket was all you had
Your duffel bag full of canned goods
And a jar of peanut butter
It's hard to call your life a journey
When it feels like you've hit a dead end

rain

This rain is torrential,
an endless purge
from Heaven,
no warning of its coming,
no clouds breaking
over the horizon
it is sudden & we are
no longer people,
  but fish swimming
in a vast ocean.
We wonder what we did
  to deserve this
as roads twist into rivers
& we sink to our knees
  praying for it to ease.
Days pass then weeks,
  money floats along streams
& we shed clothes & phones,
  forgetting we were once
professionals with important
roles, in this fishbowl
we glimpse each others soul.

I just can't

Born
You told your lie
Often enough
that you believed it
to be the truth

But I can't have that
I can't have any of that

I can't have desolation
Sorrow
Pain
and tots of regrets

Night owl

I'm on the outs
With our beloved sun
So I associate with
The moon
Spending my nights awake
And my days unconscious
Is my preference
I'd give the moon a hug
If I didn't hate
Things being in
My space
Hoo.
