"sunscreens" poems
In the time that it takes to forget you
there is more than enough time to bill you
for the fortune in time that I wasted
before the man in his own time had
tasted
defeat.
No actions you take can defend you
for the treachery and innuendo
but the hands of the clock knock back time
and reach out to slap you
as the hours drift dreamily by.

At the community pool
ya know it just ain't cool
ogling bikinis and such
probably, drinking too much
Lounging with your buds
******* up all of the suds
sunburned as sun goes high
suddenly red, as you fry
The kids they scream and splash
throwing up all over the dash
in the van, on the trip home
everywhere anywhere, foam
MILFs they will debate
which sunscreens are best, or great
while, wanting the lifeguard alone
maritally maybe, to roam
Old men asleep on deck chairs
snoring and so unawares
fishbelly white, on display
aloe too late, on the way
It's everything I adore
all of this, so much more
as summer's already here
nothing really
to fear
Just hand me
another
****
beer

I am but the Sun,
I light things up often,
But they hide themselves,
Their skins get a sun burn,
So I am wanted by none.
They avoid me in the days,
Their sunscreens & shades,
But they do long for me,
I make things so warm,
In the winters.
