i'm twelve years old the first time my life ever ends. the streamers and balloons hung up in the hall are gaudy and reminiscent of a garbage truck. graduation goes by faster than any of the hour-long rehearsals. perhaps it's my imagination, but the audience blurs out before my eyes when they hand me my makeshift diploma and i bow a last farewell.

thirteen is a big deal. god is found in the depths of an abandoned foxhole and lost to the fading glamour of megachurches, pseudo-friendships, pomp and circumstance. maybe some goodbyes are for the better. it's a hard lesson to learn.

i'm fourteen and i haven't seen the world yet, raw and naive and soft to the touch. i open the newspaper in the morning, hoary in my hands, and i discover that some names don't make the front page until they're in lieu of an obituary. i never read the newspaper again.

when are you closer to twenty than you are to ten? it's competition season when the stroke occurs in a land abroad i know nothing about. i visit every day after school. these are not all lies: sometimes it's harder to see uv drips and nurses' charts than a gravestone.

sweet sixteen is anything but. the previous statement is a flagrant lie- but then it has always been easier to say goodbye to the bitter and the reviled, than all we have ever known and loved. the walls of hospitals, of schoolyards, of departure halls, have heard the sincerest au revoirs, spilling summer-stained from unpainted lips and falling into shaking hands.

Yes, we live in a changing world and the one place getting left behind.
Is the place we attending to relax and be revived?
Yes, church.

Some still clinging to old ways and standards and not adjusting to a changing world.

Some will never budge but use all types of logic and reasons not to.
But, are we the same world created in Genesis?
Oh, no-I'm not trying to be your preaching.
That's not my calling.

They say transform from the world.
But look within various churches and you seeing bibles disappearing.
Even before old school complaining ministers.
Many with the tablet upon the stand talking about the word.

Songs aren't sung like those gospel tunes of the fifties down through present times.
We in a changing world and knowledge can only be accepted by an adapting mind.

Remember, back in the day many ministers stood at the door shaking hands.
Try to meet them in these megachurches?
You must travel through three giving excuses about the senior minister speaking engagement.

Mega Church.
Hate them not.
Even, if the minister lives in a fancy house.

Their members attend only for show.
Many have no clue of the word they should know.
Dicated too what amount of tithes they should give?

Not totally addressed on the life they should live.
Many megachurches don't know their members.

Unless you giving plenty?

The small church?
Look not down upon them.
Many do more than megachurches ever thought of doing.
And a greater chance the ministers know his members.

And many know the word more.
But when did church become a competition?
But it is?

Cause Satan constantly trying to tempt you.
By trying to distract you from the lord.

In this world, we serve a purpose.
hey
Authoritarian control; manipulated religion
masked in a subtle political ideology
Commonly those who don’t exalt or lift high
thy name- but are so good at tell an enchanting story
To store up their pockets with the
materials of your lonely pocket
10% of a dollar, is more 100% of what you owe
to receive a prophet word

Welcome to the modern world, with all these
mega corporations; oops,
I mistook them for megachurches

“Do not commit ****** sin,” still there’s the
modern churches more interested on body counts
I have horrific flashbacks of feeling claustrophobia
in the arousing curiosity of people being drawn
by an attractive conference poster
Places well establishment, to establish the
dangers of following the words of false prophets

Black ministers, where you at?
Sitting quietly, in your safe community far from reality.

Only seen on church day with a few words to say.

Violence happening on a daily basis.

Black ministers, why are you quiet?

Shame, to see older fools holding onto stupid youth ways.
Talking about their wickedness back in the day.
And advising the youth of stupidity of their wicked ways.

The black church cries about the days they were the voice.
This mainly became known more during King's days of challenging the protocol.

The written rule everyone was equal but the truth became exposed.
That these words sound good on paper but bases solely on lies.

Megachurches led by wealthy folks afraid to be controversial because of monetary support.
Black ministers, where you at?
We are not seeking a national figure because they get caught up i the press's attention.

The mantle stopped with Martin Luther King.
Not another great leader for justice till this day has emerged.
Many talk a good talk but simply afraid to take that walk.

Sitting on the sideline claiming this and that.
Also similar to various megachurches that afraid to step up and be seen.

Their only intention is believing in riches.
With fat cats ministers living in an expensive mansion.
Driving expensive cars.

Robbing the poor to get even wealthier.

Still afraid to take on the injustices in society.

Strange but true that many don't reach out unless it's for attention.
We all very aware God knows our best intention.
And those in the world using others as a tool.

****, everyone wants the title Bishop.
When many denounce the term minister.
But that's what the WORD truly about?

Getting the messages of the scriptures preached out.

Wrong can never be right.
When leaders of the flock keep leading many astray.
The mantle has yet to be accepted.

Then MLK Jr. death still is a hard one.
