Last night when I opened social media.
I saw people partying everywhere.
Celebrating the excitement of New Year's Eve 2025.

They were cheering at the fireworks.
They were blowing trumpets making noise.
They were having fun watching concerts.
They were eating various delicious dishes at the parties.
They were toasting glasses while laughing together.

But

I wasn't part of them.
I wasn't part of the partying world.
Last night I preferred to stay online with the people of Gaza.

They were exhausted , their tents were flooded.
They were shivering , the rain was very heavy.
They were frustrated , all their belongings were wet from the rain.
They were hungry , there was no food at all.
They were scared , the bombardments were still going on.

Nothing new in Gaza even though the year has now changed to 2025.
At least they still have a little fighting spirit to continue to survive.
I will also continue to give them encouragement as usual.

So

Keep fighting Gazans !
Keep standing straight Gazans !
Keep clenching your fists Gazans !
Keep your resilient high Gazans !

I am always with you all.

Should we be grateful ?!
We can eat three times a day.
Meanwhile people in Gaza are starving.

Should we be grateful ?!
we can drink coffe , fruit juice and cold drinks
Meanwhile people in Gaza are thirsty.

Should we be grateful ?!
We can sleep using a warm blanket in our comfort room.
Meanwhile people in Gaza are freezing in flooded tents.

Should we be grateful ?!
We can freely use wifi.
Meanwhile people in Gaza have difficulty getting internet.

Should we be grateful ?!
We can freely use electricity.
Meanwhile people in Gaza have to charge their cellphones using solar panels.

Should we be grateful ?!
We can relax and enjoy the beauty of nature.
Meanwhile people in Gaza are trapped in dangerous chaos.

Should e be grateful ?!
We can go to any places we like.
Meanwhile people in Gaza don't know where to go.

Should we be grateful ?!
We have money to buy anything.
Meanwhile people in Gaza have difficulty getting donations.

Should we be grateful ?!
We can buy all the necessary things.
Meanwhile people in Gaza cannot buy anything because prices are increasing.

Should we be grateful ?!
Our children can play in the park and go to school.
Meanwhile children in Gaza are exhausted from queuing for water and food in the sweltering heat.

Should we be grateful ?!
Our children can sleep peacefully while having sweet dreams.
Meanwhile children in Gaza cannot sleep because of the sound of non stop bombardments.

Should we be grateful ?!
Just because our lives are still pretty normal.
Meanwhile the lives of Gazans are far below normal.

The Unbiassed Media

Bombs rain on Gaza, the youth throw stones, the Israeli soldiers killed
or maim stone throwers, a dance of death.
What do the leading media say? Not very much,
the Gazans must be partly blamed; the victims are guilty
of the strength of being Palestinians defending their right.
In Hebron, the settlers are razing houses, killing goats and setting fire
to olive trees and daily is the death of those who get in their way.
The media might have a byline about it, that’s all.
If Israel is criticized, it unashamedly invokes the sacred Holocaust
and calls us antisemitic
Should a Jew speak up, he/her is called a self-hater
and be banned from entering the stolen land of Israel forever.
